NFCA Honors
Lodge 47, Seaton Member
Patsy Koslovsky as Fraternal MVP
The National Fraternal Congress
of America (NFCA) is proud to rec-
ognize Patsy Koslovsky, a member
of SPJST Lodge 47, Seaton, Texas,
as a Fraternal MVP (Most Valuable
Participant) for the week of July 16,
2007. Fraternal MVPs are
“Fraternalists-in-Action” who volun-
teer their time and energy to
strengthen their communities
through participation in local lodge
activities and other charitable
endeavors.
“The NFCA wishes to salute those
individuals as tme fratemalists,” said
NFCA Chair of the Board Janice U.
Whipple. “As a Fraternal MVP,
Patsy Koslovsky embodies
the heart of fratemalism
through her hard work,
dedication and gen-
erosity.”
Koslovsky has
been an SPJST
member for 53
years. She
served her
lodge as secre-
tary of the
board, where
she volunteers
in many areas
such as kitchen
duty, set
up/clean-up,
soliciting dona-
tions, ticket sales,
planning and adver
tising and following
up with thank you notes
after the occasion. She is
the Distríct Two Youth
Counselor where she volunteers
many hours of her time working with
beseda dance groups organizing
practices, fund-raisers, performanc-
es, and assisting in designing beseda
dance costumes. She also supervised
the dance group and scheduled per-
formances at numerous community
events this past year. Koslovsky
works with 10 local lodge youth
clubs coordinating socials, fund-rais-
ers, the SPJST Easter
Eggstravaganza, Core Challenge
(physical fitness program for stu-
dents of all ages), spring and fall
meeting contests, youth camp,
Distríct Two and State Youth
Achievement Day, and volunteers
her time each year with the youth
leaders and camp volunteers appreci-
ation banquet.
Koslovsky is married and has
worked in the same dental office for
the past 18 years as office manager.
She takés her work to heart, where
patients háve become a part of her
family. Koslovsky has been an
active member of SPJST all her life
following in the footsteps of her
grandparents and parents. She visits
older members, nursing homes, and
members in the hospital as often as
possible. At funerals, she is always
there with food, phone calls, visits,
or cards.
As an SPJST sales agent,
Koslovsky also has achieved the dis-
tinction of being recognized as a
Million Dollar Producer in recent
years. She mentors to the youth of
the organization and the community
so they will some day be able to pass
on the importance of volunteerism
and lending a helping hand in
the community.
Fraternal MVPs are
part of the NFCAs
Fraternalists-in-
Action program,
which recognizes
individuals
whose unique
stories best rep-
resent 21 st
Century frater-
nalism. These
fratemalists
demonstrate
exceptional
compassion and
vision through
their volunteer
activities.
About the NFCA
The 121-year-old
NFCA unites 76 not-for-
profit fraternal benefit societies
operating in all 50 States, the Distríct
of Columbia, and Canada. The asso-
ciation represents 10 million frater-
nalists in 37,000 local chapters, mak-
ing it one of America’s largest mem-
ber-volunteer networks. Fraternal
benefit societies provide their mem-
bers with leadership, sociál, educa-
tional, spirituál, patriotic, scholar-
ship, financial and volunteer-service
opportunities. Combined, the
NFCAs member-societies maintain
more than $324 billion of life insur-
ance-in-force and, in 2005 alone,
contributed almost $400 million to
charitable and fraternal programs,
and volunteered 93 million hours for
community-service projects. These
statistics demonstrate the commit-
ment that fratemals make to those in
need and exemplify the trne meaning
of the NFCA signatuře phrase:
Joining Hands to Touch Lives. For

Web site at www.nfcanet.org.
