Christmas Party
December 13
Dear Members,
Our lodge held its monthly meeting on
Sunday, November 8, 1992 at the Youth
Center at 2 p.m. President Annie Vahalik
called the meeting to order and led the
members in the pledge to the flag.
Vičky Zak read a resolution of sympa-
thy for our departed member, Virgil Min-
ear.
FAC Gaye Galetka introduced our
guest speaker, Hallettsville Fire Marshall
Roy Kalisek. He gave an interesting and
informative program on safety at Christ-
mas and on the different types of fire
extinguishers and how to use them. A
question and answer session followed.
The lodge thanked Fire Marshall Kalisek
for being with us.
The meeting then continued with Cor-
responding Secretary Erwin Holý reading
the minutes to the last meeting which
were approved with minor corrections.
Correspondence was read and Treasurer
Helen Zabranský reported.
President Vahalik thanked everyone
for their help with the District VI meeting
and sociál hosted by S weet Home and our
lodge. It was a success and we were hap-
py to háve so many attend. Also, con-
gratulations to the following who won at
the district meeting: Elsie Mascheck—
First Plače, Needlework; Vičky Zak—-
First Plače, Quilís; and Susan Siptak—
First Plače, Kolaches. The table decora-
tions were given to the Hallettsville
Senior Center which they were happy to
receive.
Margaret Smotek of the Sunshine
Committee stated that the bingo at the
Stevens Convalescent Center was well
attended and enjoyed by the residents.
Youth Leader Jeanette Bender report-
ed on the youth club activities. She then
announced that she would not be running
for Youth Club leader again.
The members voted to contribute to
the following causes:
• $50.00—100 Pennies Scholarship Drive
• $100.00—Hallettsville United Way
• $100.00—Bluebonnet Youth Ranch
• Two Gifts—Deputy Santa Program
Election of officers was held with the
following elected:
President—Annie Vahalik
Vice President—Joe Siptak
Secretary—Erwin Holý
Treasurer—Helen Zabranský
Reportér—Patsy Zabranský
Flag Bearer—Adam Siptak
Youth Leader—Annie Vahalik

Our Christmas Party was discussed. It
will be held following our meeting on
Sunday, December 13th at the Youth
Center. The youth club will present a
Christmas Program and Santa is planning
to visit with us. Dooř prizes will be giv-
en and lunch will be served as usual.
The meeting adjoumed and lunch was
served.
Our members celebrating October,
November and December birthdays were
honored. Members present with birth-
days were:, Evelyn Holv, Vičky Zak,
Kristen Bender and E.J. Bender. Winner
of the birthday cake baked by Elsie
Mascheck was Kristen Bender.
Dooř prize winners were Jeanette Ben-
der and Nicholas Vahalik. A candy guess-
ing game was won by Joshua Siptak.
Members, make plans now to attend
our December meeting and Christmas
Party on Sunday, December 13 at 2 p.m.
The youth will present a Christmas Pro-
gram and Santa will visit with us. Dooř
prizes will be given and lunch served as
usual. Members and their families are
cordially invited to attend.

Lodge 24, Cyclone
Christmas Party
December 13
Dear Members,
This coming Sunday, December 13,
we will be holding our annual Christmas
Party at Lodge No. 24, Cyclone. The
event gets underway with a Sociál Hour
at 3 p.m., followed by a Candlelight
Memoriál at 4 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m.
Several members háve already volun-
teered to provide turkeys, dressing and
cranbemes for the meal. Each family in
attendance is asked to bring a favorite
vegetable or salad side dish and/or a
dessert to compiement this holiday meal.
Also, please notě that our regular
monthly lodge meeting will be the fol-
lowing Monday evening, December 14th,
at 7:30 p.m.
If you still haven’t made reservations
for our New Yeaťs Eve celebration, fea-
turing the music of Jed Durbin, please do
so by calling Rosamond Baker at
985-2457. See you Sunday!

Reports on Activities
The November meeting was called to
order by President Linda Trojacek. A
moment of silence was observed for
deceased member Dorothy Dubec.
The election of officers was held and
the current officer will hold their posi-
íions for another year.

Our New Yeaťs Eve Dance will fea-
ture the Mikula Band. Make youi plans
to attend now. Just like last year, we
will serve a FREE BREAKFAST after
midnight as well as your good luck
blackeyes. Admission is $15.00 per
couple. Make your reservations now by
calling the SPJST at 875-8381.
We will also be hosting a country and
western dance on January 16th with
music by Loaded Gun.
We enjoyed seeing a lot of familiar
faces at the Bobby Jones Dance. Every-
one seemed to háve a good time. We
hope we’11 see you again on New Year’s
Eve.

Lodge 29, Taylor will háve its annual
Christmas Party and monthly meeting on
Sunday December 13th at 2 p.m. We
will also honor our 50-year members at
this time.

seen Santa around town doing a lot of
visiting and talking with children. If
enough good boys and girls come to the
Christmas Party, Santa just might make

Christmas Party
December 12
Lodge No. 66, Waco, will hold
its Christmas Party on Saturday, Decem-
ber 12.
The doors will open at 3:00 p.m.
Sociál hour will begin at 4:00 p.m. and
the meal yrill.he served at 5:00 p.m.
This is free to members and their
family. The family should be a member,
spouse and immarried children living at
home.
Plates will be $7 for guests invited by
members.
After a short program and a visit by
Santa, there will be a dance with music
by Jerry Haisler.
Members are asked to bring desserts.
Bring your pennies or loose change to
donate to the 100 Pennies Scholarship
fund.

Christmas Party
December 19
Season’s Greetings to members and
Mends.
Can you believe it is time for our
Christmas Party? The dáte—December
19—is only a week away, so mark your
calendar now. 2625 Floyd is the plače.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Socializing
will be until 7 p.m. Then, at 7 o’clock,
we will partake of the delicious covered
dishes of food and desserts prepared by
our members and friends, along with the
tasty ham, cheese and bread fumished by
our mother lodge and Lodge 130. Tea
and coffee will also be served.
After all háve enjoyed the wonderful
food, we will be entertained by our youth.
The youth always are a marvelous group
of entertainers, and Lodge 84 is very
proud of them.
And then, it will be time for our most
important guest—Santa. He will make
his way from the North Pole to bring
cheer to all. We can hardly wait for his
arrival.
Come and join us for an evening of
fun and entertainment—getting you on
your way for the New Year.

Lodge No. 87, Temple
Christmas Party
December 11
The meeting of SPJST Lodge No. 87
was called to order on Friday evening,
November 13, 1992 with President Ladis
Navrátil presiding.
Ed Reisner, flag bearer, led the lodge
in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. A
silent tribute was then paid to deceased
member, Theresa Kurtin.
The minutes of the previous meeting
were read and approved as read. Various
reports were given and old and new busi-
ness was discussed.
The following new members were
accepted into our lodge: Louis W. Hejl,
Sarah E. Weinblatt, John Preston Cun-
*ningham, III, Marjorie Haxper, Orvil
Harper, Jr. and Patrick John Ridiey. A
warm welcome is extended to these
members.
