We, íhe members of the Resolution
Committee of Lodge No. 47, Seaton,
Texas, on behalf of our membership,
wish to express our deepest and sincere
sympathy to the family and friends of our
departed sister,
VALLIE FRANCES BISKUP,
85 of Temple who died in a local nursing
home.
Services were held in Harper -Talasek
Funeral Home of Temple with Dr. Mark
Bumpas officiating.
Burial was in Seaton Cemetery.
Mrs. Biskup was bom in Bell County
to Martin and Katherine Adámek Macek.
She had lived most of her life in the Bell
County area and was a member of Evan-
gelical Brethren Church of Temple.
She was preceded in death by her hus-
band, James Biskup; and by two sons,
Lawrence Graves, Jr. and James D.
Graves.
Survivors are two sons, Wallace
Biskup of Troy and Joe Biskup of Buck-
holts; two daughters, Minnie Simcek of
Temple and Barbara Folks of San Anto-
nio: a sister, Minnie Mauldin of Temple;
12 grandchildren and eight great -grand-
children.
Memorials may be made to the Tem-
ple Aizheimers Support Group, P.O.
Box 5036, Temple 76501.

ELLA FOERSTER,
85, of Taylor, died Sunday, October 18,
1992 in Taylor Care Center.
Mrs. Foerster was bom November 16,
1906 at Beyersville, the daughter of Carl
and Louise (Riethmeyer) Buenger. A life-
time resident of the area, she was baptized
and confirmed at Clirist Lutheran Church
at Noack. On December 26, 1951, she
was married to Louis Foerster, who pre-
ceded her in death in 1981. She had been
a homemaker and member of St. Peteťs
United Church of Christ in Coupland.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday
at 2 p.m. at Condra Memoriál Chapel.
Burial will be in the Taylor City Cemetery.
Survivors include two stepdaughters,
Ella Phillips and husband, Warner of
Pampa, Louise Bewley of Hurst; three
sisters, Martha Poldrack, Susie Pries-
meyer of Taylor, Emma Teftelíer of
Houston; a brother, Paul Buenger and
wife, Evelyn of Taylor; and three step-
grandchildren.

We, the Resolution Committee of
SPJST Lodge No. 92 in Fort Worth,
Texas, wish to express heartfelí sympathy
on behalf of our entire membership, to
the family of
TILLIE GILLIS,
a homemaker, who died at a Richardson
nursing home at the age of 79, on
November 11,1992.
Mrs. Gillis was bom in Nile City and
lived in Fort Worth most of her life.
Sister Gillis was a member of SPJST
Lodge No. 92 and of the Ladies Circle.
She is survived by her husband,
Aríhur Gillis, of Fort Worth.
The funeral was held on November
13, 1992 at 3:30 p.m. at Mount Olivet
Funeral Home, with burial in Mount
Olivet Cemetery.

On behalf of our entire membership,
we , the Resolution Committee of Dan-
bury Lodge No. 139, wish to express our
sincere sympathy to the bereaved family
of our departed brother,
HAROLD FRED GUTHMAN
of Danbury. He passed away at the age
of 71 at his residence on Friday, October
16,1992.
Bom March 31, 1921, Brother Guth-
man was a resident of Angleton and
Danbury since 1943. He was employed
by Dow Chemical as a painter for 35
years. He retired in 1978. He belonged
to Painteťs Local No. 1848 and was a
member of St. Anthony’s Catholic
Church of Danbury.
In addition to his wife, Welma Guth-
man of Danbury, Brother Guthman is
survived by two daughters: Leslie Filipp
of Angleton and Sharon Johnson of
Alvin; one brother, Leroy Guthman of
Lissie; five sisters, Frances Miller of
Wharton, Regina Wisnieski of Sabinal,
Emma Labay of El Campo. Menola
Kissee of Pettus, Sue Walker of Pasade-
na; and eight grandchildren.
A rosary and wake Service were held
at Palms Chapel of Roses in Angleton.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10
a.m. on October 19, 1992 at St Antho-
nv’s Catholic Church in Danbury with
Faťher William Oliver and Deacon Ger-
ald Peltier officiating. Interment was at
Holý Cross Memoriál Park in El Campo,
Texas.
Pallbearers were Cecil Domak, Ben-
ny Labay, Anthony Pieper, David
Pieper, James Pieper, and Ravmond
Pieper. Honoráry pallbearer was Ken-
neth Labay.
May our departed brother rest in eter-
nal peace.

We, the members of the Resolution
Committee of Sam Houston Lodge No.
73, Seymour, Texas, on behalf of our
membership, wish to express our deepest
and sincere sympathy to the family and
friends of our departed sister,
JULIA WASEK HOLDER,
of Seymour, Texas, who died Sunday,
October 25, 1992 at the age of 86 in a
Seymour nursing home.
Services were at 4 p.m. Monday at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sey-
mour with the Rev. Bart J. Landwrermey-
er officiating. Burial was in the SPJST
Cemetery under the direction of Seymour
Memoriál Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holder was born August 19,
1906, in Moravia, Texas. She moved to
Baylor County in 1908. She was a long-
time resident of Wichiia Falls and
worked at íhe General Flour Milí for
many years. She and C.T. Holder were
married in 1945 in Wichita Falls. He
died in 1960. She had lived in Seymour
since 1972.

DANIEL ARTHUR JUREN
Daniel Arthur Juren, 90, longtime post-
master at Ellinger, died Friday, October
23, 1992 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
Funeral Services were held Monday,
October 26, 1992 at 10 a.m. at Sergeant
Memoriál Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Henry Beseda and the Rev. Milton
Mály officiating. Burial was in the
LaGrange City Cemetery.
Mr. Juren was bom March 13,1902 in
Fayetteville, the youngest child of the
latě Rev. Henry and Frances Schiller
Juren. He was united in marriage with
Ellen Emily Zabcik on November 22,
1923 in Rosebud. Mrs. Juren passed
away in November 1991.
A longtime resident of Fayette Coun-
ty, Mr. Juren served as postmaster of the
Ellinger Post Office for 30 years. Concur-
rently, he operated a barber shop for
more than 50 years, maintained an
income tax preparaíion Service, and for a
number of years, managed a large farm-
ing operation.
In addition to his multiple business
activities, Mr. Juren was active in a vari-
ety of church and community affairs. He
was a member of the Fayetteville
Brethren Church, serving as president of
the Board of Elders. In prior years, he
also served as choir director of the church
where his father had been minister. He
was a member of the Mutual Aid Society,
and for many years was the Business
Manager of the Brethren Journal, a
monthly church publicaíion.,
He held a number of leadership posi-
tions in íhe community. Mr. Juren was a
charter member of the Ellinger Chamber
of Commerce, serving as iís first secre-
tary and iater as its president for a num-
ber of years. He was a member of SPJST
Lodge No. 51 since 1926, serving as sec-
retary/treasurer for 48 years. He was a
member of tne Fayetteville Masonic
Lodge. An avid sports enthusiast, he was
at one time a correspondent sportswriter
for the Houston Post and the San Antonio
Light. He was also elected to the South
Central Texas Semi-Pro Baseball Halí of
Fame.
Mr. Juren was named an Outstanding
Senior Citizen of Fayette County in 1987.
Mr. and Mrs. Juren were honored in 1985
by being presented with an Outstanding
Citizens Award by the Ellinger Commu-
nity.
Surviving are two children, Dennis F.
Juren and his wife, Ruth, of Houston and
Gladys J. Plueckhahn and husband, Bili
of Dallas; one brother, Richard Juren of
Ft.Worth; one half-sister, Ella Adlong of
Cypress; five grandchildren, four great-
grandchildren and a number of nieces and
nephews.

LUELLA M. KOCIAN
Funeral Services for Luella M. Kocian,
68, of Ellinger were held at 4 p.m., Sun-
day, August 16 at Jecmenek Chapel in
Ellinger with Rev. Brian Rossow officiat-
ing. Burial was in the LaGrange City
Cemetery.
Mrs. Kocian passed away in Austin
following an extended illness.
She was bom in Ellinger on March 15,
1924, the daughter of John J. and Sophie
L (Martinek) Divin. She was united in
marriage with Ludwig F. Kocian on
November 15, 1943 in LaGrange. Mrs.
Kocian was a member of St. John Luther-
an Church in Ellinger, the SPJST and for
some 20 years, she worked for the
Ellinger Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are her husband, Ludwig
Kocian of Ellinger, her parents John J.
and Sophie Divin of LaGrange; one
brother John C. Divin, Sr. and his wife,
Burdie of Ellinger; one daughter-in-law
Lucille Koehl and her husband, Emil, of
Ellinger; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Cole-
man of Columbus; one grandson, Wayne
Kocian of Ellinger; two stepgrandchil-
dren, Laura and E.J, Koehl of Ellinger;
and numerous nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by a son,
Daniel Kocian and a brother, Benjamin.
Memoriál contributions may be made
to St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinger,
or to the charity of one’s choice.
Koenig-Peel Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

appreciation to relatives and friends for
the many expressions of kindness and
concem extended to us during the illness
and death of our loved one.

fort; to Koenig-Peel Funeral Home and
staff, and to the pallbearers for their finál
act of kindness.
Thanks also Dr. George Kitzmiller,
the nurses of Seton Hospital, Dr. Bili

ment Hill Nursing Center for their lov-
ing care.
