Resoíution
of Sympathy
We, the members of SPJST Lodge
154, Fort Worth, wish to express our
deepesí sympathy to the family and
friends of
GEORGE ANTON TESAŘ,
age 66, passed away Friday, December 5,
2003 of complications resulting from
heart surgery.
Funeral Service was at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, December 9 at St. Andrews
Catholic Church. Burial was in Mount
Olivet Cemetery. Visitation was from 5
to 7 p.m. Monday, December 8. Rosary
was at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests
donations be made to St. Andréw’s
Sociál Ministries, 3200 Dryden Road,
Fort Worth 76109.
George was bom February 22, 1937 in
Fort Worth. He attended Mt. Carmel
Academy, Tech High School and TCU.
He was a longtime member of St.
Andrew’s Catholic Church and active in
Texas Czech cultural organizations and
the Democratic party. He recently retired
from Miller Distributing Company after
14 years. He was previously employed
by Coors Distributing.
George was a loving husband, father
and grandfather. He was blessed with
great gifts of friendship and compassion.
He touched many lives during his days
on earth. This loving husband, father,
and grandfather was loved by many and
wil! be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his par-
ents, Charles and Frances Tesař; and sis-
ter, Marcella.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years,
Judy; daughters, Sharon Stone and hus-
band, Bob of Arlington, Deborah Tesař
of Houston and Kathryn Tesař of New
York City; brothers, Louis Tesař of
Arlington and Charles Tesař of Austin;
and cherished granddaughter, Rebecca
Stone of Arlington.
Mount Olivet Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
He was a friend to everyone, and he
will be greatly missed. May God give
strength and bless his wonderful family.
May he rest in etemal peace and his
memory remain with us forever.

of Mary Havlak
Mary Agnes Havlak, 89, of San
Angelo passed away Monday, December
8, 2003 in Meadow Creek Nursing
Center.
Recitation of the Holý Rosary was at
7 p.m., Tuesday, December 9 in
Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Mass
of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m.,
Wednesday, December 10 at St. Ambrose
Catholic Church in Wall, Texas with
Monsignor Larry Droll as celebrant.
Mary was bom December 11, 1913 in
Rowena, Texas to her parents, Otto and
Franci s Strakoš Bubenik. She grew up in
the Veribest community. She married
Frank J. Havlak on January 14, 1936.
They had 63 beautiful years together.
They farmed and lived in the Wall
Community most of their lives.
Some of Mary’s favorite things to do
were sewing, quilting, making kolaches,
raising flowers, and enjoying her grand-
children. She volunteered for many
years at St John’s Hospital and received
numerous awards for her work there.
Mary was a member of St. Helen’s Altar
Society and SPJST Lodge 160, San
Angelo.
She was preceded in death by hus-
band, Frank; brothers, John and Eddie
Bubenik; and sister, Ella Braden.
She is survived by her loving family,
son and daughter in-law, B.J. and Lillie
Havlak of St. Lawrence; daughter and
son in-law, Betty and Billy Schwartz of
Wall; daughter and son in-law, Sandra
and Leonard Jansa of Wall; grandchil-
dren, Ron and Brenda Cofer of Saginaw,
Amanda Havlak of St. Lawrence, Mistie
Havlak of Cameron, Kristie Havlak of
Granbury, Tisha Schwartz of Dallas, Jill
Miller of San Saba, Neil Schwartz of
Miles; Bridget and John Mullin of
Humble, Jason Schwartz of Wall, Todd
and Kim Schwartz of Wall, Robyn and
Andy Galíant of Caddo Mills, Ryan and
Springer Jansa of San Angelo, Clay Jansa
of Wall and Cara Jansa of Wall; great-
grandchildren, Ryan and Hunter Cofer,
Daeley Havlak, Austin and Laken Miller,
Dylan and Cody Schwartz, Davis
Schwartz and Jaké and Reese Gallant;
brothers, Albert Bubenik of San Angelo
and Julius: Bubenik of Houston; sister,
Lillie Pechacek of Corpus Christi;
numerous nieces and nephews; and very
speciál friend, Irene Malish.
The family wishes to express its heart-
felt thanks to all of the staff.at Meadow
Creek Nursing Center.
Memorials may be made to a favorite
charity.
Johnson’s Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

of Garland Welfl
Garland A. Welfl, 52, of Moulton,
died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003.
He was bom August 4, 1951, in
Houston, to Eleanora Pavlas Keil of
Moulton and to the latě Victor Roland
Welfl. He was a member of Knights of
Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic
Church. He was range director for
Appelťs Hill Gun Club, vice president
of the Moulton Clinic Board, president
of the Friendly Trail Riders
Association and a member of Lodge
88, Houston. He was a rancher. He
retired from his profession of machin-
ist and tool and dye maker.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley
Dlouhý Welfl; daughter, Heather R.
Welfl of Moulton; and brother,
Michael W. Welfl of Houston.
A rosary was recited by the Knights
of Columbus at 7 p.m. Monday at St
Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton.
Services were held on Tuesday,
December 21, at St. Joseplťs Catholic
Church with the Reverend Gabriel
Maison officiating. Burial was at
Moulton Catholic Cemetery under the
direction of Smith Funeral Home,
Moulton. Pallbearers were Darrin
Foster, Gerald Fisbeck, Darrell
Rothbauer, David Michalec, Buddy
Clark, and Richard Kresta.

District Two
invites members
to experience
Blackhawks hockey
January 24
District Two has a section reserved
for the January 24, 2004 Central Texas
Blackhawks Hockey game held at the
Bell County- Expo Center. The
Blackhawks will be playing the
Wichita Falls Rustlers. Section 105,
located directly behind the penalty
box, has been reserved for SPJST on
this night. We will be recognized dur-
ing the game. This sociál is for every-
one in District Two, young and old
alike. If you háve never been to a
hockey game, please make plans to
attend and enjoy an action-packed
night with other members.
The game begins at 7:05 p.m. The
cost for active members ages 13 to
adult is $5.
Active members, ages 12 and under,
will be able to get tickets for $2 each.
Non-active members and guests will
be able to get tickets at $8 for adults
and $5 for children 12 and under.
Please call me or your lodge’s youth
leader before January 16 to order your
discount tickets.

Youth Club wraps up
holiday season
Dear Vestnik Readers,
We started this month out by going
to Six Flags with our district. We
couldn’t háve asked for better weather.
The next day, we held our monthly
youth club meeting. We took cakes to
the nursing home on January 7.
Our next sociál will be January 16.
and we will make valentines and také
down the Christmas decorations. On
the 18th, we are going to the movies
with our youth club. We were also

Members of the Lodge 4, Hallettsville Youth Club participated in
the Kolache Fest Parade in Hallettsville on September 27, 2003 and
won first plače in the youth division.
