Lodge 1, Fayetteville
reports on
January meting
SPJST Lodge 1, Fayetteville met at
noon Thursday, January 8, 2004 at
Keilers Restaurant for its quarterly
meeting with 10 members and two
guests, Robert Froebel and Donnie
Victorick, in attendance.
Vice President Glenn Pflughaupt
called the meeting to order and led
members in reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance. Members remained stand-
ing for a moment of silent prayer in
observance of deceased members and

Lodge 1 reaching its goals and receiv-
ing additíonal funds and incentives for
Lodge 1.
Members elected Irene Polanský as
SPJST Lodge 1 delegáte and Bonnie
Rohde as altemate delegáte to attend
the SPJST XXIXth Convention held
June 14 to 16, 2004 in Temple, Texas.
Election of officers for the year
2004 was held and the following were
elected by acclamation:
the troops serving in the military.
The minutes of the September 25
and December 7, 2003 meetings were
approved as read and the treasurer’s
report was accepted as presented.
Under old business, no update was
available on the proposed roof repairs
and other minor repairs to the SPJST
halí.
-In discussing new business, Vice
President Pflughaupt welcomed new
members and read thank you notě
received ffom the Louis J. Polanský
family for flowers. He thanked , Sales
Representative Ronnie Pflughaupt for
helping reach the 2003 goal SPJST
member applications, resulting in

Treasurer Brenda Minarcik
President Pflughaupt thanked
Donnie Victorick, expressing appreci-
ation in his being able to join members
for the luncheon meeting and invited
his comments. Mr. Victorick stated
how very much he and his wife,
Janice, enjoyed the Christmas party at
the historie SPJST Halí. He congratu-
lated the lodge for reaching its goals
through the sales efforts of Ronnie
Pflughaupt and invited members to
attend the upcoming District One
Spring Meeting in Apríl. He also dis-
cussed the Lifetime Achiever plaque,
noting that this year, plaques will be
awarded to a husband and wife togeth-
er with both of their names on it. The
awards will be presented at the District
Spring Meeting. He also encouraged
members to attend the Lodge Officers
Incentive Banquet and announced his
candidacy for District Ope Director.
The following SPJST Lodge 1
members were nominated to receive
the Lifetime Achiever plaque—Ruth
Froebel, Mary Ann Guthmann, Betty
Heinsohn, Glenn Pflughaupt, and
Louis and Irene Polanský.
Anriual Picnic
For the past several years, SPJST
Lodge 1 and the Fayette County
Czech Heritage Society háve held a
combined picnic at Polanský’s Lake at
Rek Hill in promoting a bond of Czech
heritage and voted to do it again this
year. John Polášek, President of the
Fayette County Czech Heritage
Society, stated their society would like
to continue the event. The dates Apríl
25 and May 2, 2004 were discussed to
be confirmed.
There being no further business, the
meeting adjoumed.

Lodge 6, Cottonwood
reports on
January meeting
meeting. The minutes were approved
as read. Sister Barbara had no corre-
spondence. Our treasury report was
given by Treasurer, Sister Peggy
Dobecka. It was approved as given.
Financial Secretary and Halí
Manager, Brother George Straten,
gave his report of six new members
and one addition insurance. Thanks to
our Sales Representatives, Brothers
Donald Černošek, Johnnie Krizan,
Jerry Kučera, and Sister Lydia
Dobecka. Brother George also report-
ed that our February socials will be on
February 6 and 20. Brother George
reported that the next Trustee’s
Meeting would be held on February
20 at 7 p.m. at Cottonwood Halí.
Sister Barbara Jean Hykel,
Fratemal Activities Coordinator, gave
her report of West Chamber of
Commerce membership dues are now
due. She also read a letter from
Gladys Yates, State Fraternal
Activities Coordinator, wishing all a
Happy New Year.
I failed to obtain the toumament
dates so watch the Vestnik if you are
interested.
Sister Barbara reminded us all of
the State Incentive Awards Banquet
that will be in Cyclone on February
28. She encouraged everyone to
please attend. She also reminded
everyone that she needed scholarship
applications as they háve to be in by
January 31, and she also needs every-
one’s fratemal activity report forms.
Hi! Our President, Brother Johnnie
Krizan, called the meeting to order on
Sunday, January 4, 2004 at 2 p.m.
Anna Dulock led all in the Pledge of
Allegiance with Tracie Dobecka recit-
ing our SPJST Motto. Sister Georgie
Soukup, Flag Bearer/Guide, gave her
report of 28 members and four guests
present at our meeting. Our guests
were Tammie and Selby Holder and
Brian Vaniček and son, Sam. Thanks
to Brian Vaniček, Vestnik Editor, of
Temple, Texas, for coming and
installing our officers.
Our Secretary, Sister Barbara Jean
Hykel, read the minutes from our last
Youth Report
Youth Leader, Sister Peggy
Dobecka, reported taking cakes to the
rest home on December 3, 2003, and
again January 7, 2004. She reported
that the youth did a good job in present-
ing their Christmas program, and
thanked all who donated or bought
tickets in the youth club dooř prize
drawings. Sister Peggy also reported
that the youth took their Christmas
crafts to both nursing homes, West Rest
Haven and Bellmead Nursing Center.
Sister Peggy also reported that the
youth enjoyed their Six Flags outing
on January 3 then attended the lock-in
at Lodge 84 in Dallas afterwards. The
youth need help in saving pull tabs in
connection with their Ronald
McDonald House project. It was
reported that their next meeting would
be Sunday, February 1 at 1:30 p.m.
Sunshine Committee, Sister Irene
Schiemenz, gave her report of sending
Christmas cards to our West Rest
Haven residents, Annie Chudej, Ella
Macik, Steve Neckar, Esther Malina,
and included Sending a card to
Georgie and Bili Skerik. She thanked
Evelyn Bezdek for donating the cards.
Sister Irene also sent a get-well card to
Johnny Muehlstein. Sister Irene also
reported sending sympathy cards to
Gary and Jeanette Beseda, Frances
Beseda, David Mynar family, Michael
Mynar family, Dianě and Gary Berger
family, Patty and Cody Dragoo, Susan
and James Miller, and Cindy and Tony
Kubacak, upoft the death of their
mother and mother in-law, Danielle
Mynar. Sympathy cards were also
sent to Pat and Steve Dieterich and
Lakn, upon the death of their mother
and grandmother, Bobbie Dieterich.
Our condolences to all these families
upon their loss.
