Elgin Lodge 18 had a great year.
Thanks to all the volunteers, we were
able to do a lot good for the communi-
ty. We had $1800 in smáli miscella-
neous donations. Our large donations
were Elgin Volunteer Fire Department
$1,000; Down Home Ranch $1,000;
Elgin Food Pantry $500 Bastrop
County Projective Service Board
$500; American Diabetes Association
$500; Elgin Ministerial Food Pantry
$500; Muscular Dystrophy
Association $500; Salvation Army of
Elgin $500; Blue Santa Elgin $500;
Family Crises Center Bastrop $1,000.
This was a total of $8,300. What a
great accomplishment!
Christmas Appreciation Dance
We had a Christmas dance on
December 14, and we furnished
refreshments for who attended the
dance. We wanted to show our appre-
ciation to all that support our lodge.
Without this support, we could not
háve helped so many different organi-
zations. Thanks, again, to you all.
With all of this, we were able to do
some repairs in the halí as well. This
says a of lot you, our Elgin lodge. Just
-think how much more we could do
with some more help. Come attend our
meetings see just how active your
lodge is.
We had a great New Years Eve
dance. We served black-eyed peas,
com bread, sausage, and coffee after
the dance. Isn’t it nice to háve a plače
to go to and not háve to spend a fortuně
or drive a long way. Everyone who
was there had a great time. We had
many compliments on how nice the
halí was.
Kate Mogonye was named
Fratémalist of the Year for Lodge 18.
Congratulations, Kate. You do a great
job.
Remember, we need all volunteer
hours, thaťs how we keep our tax
exempt status and savé on tax dollars.
We saved enough money to help
make all those donations. Leťs keep
up the good work.
