Esther led us in reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance, and we remained standing
for a moment of silence for two of our
members Lillian Hamusek, sister of
Justine Pokladnik, and Bessie Kalich,
wife of Gilbert Kalich and George
Hansen member of the Polka Lovers
of America and friend of Martha
Franka.
Bertha welcomed 24 members,
three men guests, and one visitor,
Beverly McDowell, daughter of
Lillian Graeser. We enjoyed seeing
her and Lillian.
Our new member, Deanna Houpy,
brought her daughter-in-law, Laurie,
and her grandchild, little Deanna. We
are happy that Laurie joined our cir-
cle.

minutes of November and December
meetings, and they were approved as
read.
Treasurer Rosie Julius gave a short
treasury report. She is having eye
problems. The report was approved
as read. Rosie asked to be replaced as
treasurer. She will give the March
report.
Lovine Locklear, Membership
Secretary, tumed the books over to
Esther Cunningham. Esther said we
háve 20 members who háve paid their
dues. The dues are due this month for
the year.
Esther read correspondence that
included a letter from Gilbert Kalich
and a donation to the circle in memo-
ry of his wife Bessie Kalich.
A letter was received stating that
the doctors of the Czech Republic are
still coming to SW Medical School to
study later this year. Dr. Novák says
they still need donations for them.
A letter was received from North
Texas University asking for a dona-
tion for the Czech Music and Culture
Department. Esther made a motion
that we give a donation to the Czech
Music and Culture Foundation at
North Texas University. The motion
carried.
Esther announced that there will be
a Czech String Quartet at SMU
Caruth Auditorium on March 27,
2006. Bertha said Sokol hosts the
quartet after the concert, and everyone
is welcome.
Esther thanked Bessie Petr for the
delicious catered lunch. She also
thanked everyone who helped make
the Christmas party a success. She
also thanked Bertha who fumished the
ingredients and made the punch. She
said everyone enjoyed it, and she is
looking forward to another one next
year.

for the pictures she gave everyone of
the Red Hat Society of our November

for January and February. Esther had

brated her 85th Birthday, and she was
