Pilot Point-Tioga
announces
meeting dates
The Lodge 5, Pilot Point-Tioga
monthly meetings will be held at 2
p.m. on the first Saturday of each
month at the Point Bank Community
Halí in Pilot Point, Texas. This halí is
on the same parking lot as Point
Bank in Pilot Point, Texas.
Refreshments will be served.

Pilot Point-Tioga
gives books
to SPJST LAM
Our monthly meeting was called
to order by our President Bili
Heitzman at 2 p.m. at the Country
Star Restaurant in Collinsville,
Texas.
Angie and Bili Heitzman stated
there are several antique Czech
books in our possession. The mem-
bers decided to donate these to the
SPJST Library, Archives and
Museum (LAM) in Temple.
Virginia Pelzel discussed with the
members of having the meetings in
the Community Halí in Pilot Point.
She is checking into the rental on the
first Saturday of each month for
availability.
Angie Heitzman made a motion to
adjoum at 3 p.m., seconded by Jack
Carender.

Cottonwood
reports on
February meeting
Hi! We all enjoyed a noon meal of
potluck before President, Brother
Milton Peterson, called our meeting to
order at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 5,
2006. Miss Amelia Peterson led all in
the Pledge of Allegiance, with Miss
Courtney Halbert reciting the SPJST
Motto.
Sister Georgia Soukup gave a
report of 25 members and no guests at
our meeting. We had a moment of
silence of all departed SPJST mem-
bers, especially Jerry Zapalac and
Christina Archer. Our condolences to
the families of these two deceased
members.
Brother Peterson called upon Sister
Barbara Jean Hykel, Secretary, for her
reading of the minutes from our last
meeting. The minutes were approved
as read with one minor correction.
Sister Peggy Dobecka, Treasurer,
gave her report, which was approved
as given.
Sister Barbara read some corre-
spondence that had been received
from Czech Educational Foundation
of Texas. There was correspondence
from the SPJST Home Office regard-
ing the SPJST Awards Banquet in
Killeen on February 25. There was
also a letter regarding our two 50-year
members. Valerie Helona and Patricia
Bromhall will be honored at our
Easter gathering on April 2.
Sister Peggy Dobecka, Youth
Leader, gave a report of the youth
club taking cakes to the rest home on
February 1. She reported that their
Valentine party would be at the lodge
on February 10 for which they fur-
nished the food. The youth also dis-
tributed their Valentine crafts to those
in attendance. The party was very
nice and enjoyed by all. The youth
also baked Valentine cookies to give
to the residents at the nursing home.
Brother Milton called upon Brother
George Straten, Financial Secretary and
Halí Manager, for his report. He report-
ed one adult and five juvenile new
members which were voted in. Thanks
to our Sales Agents, Brothers Donald
Černošek and Johnnie Krizan. Brother
George also reported socials for March
on the 3rd and 17th at 6:30 p.m.
Our Sunshine Committee, Sister
Jerelene Lenart, gave a report of send-
ing get well cards to Jerry Zapalac and
Karen Sonnenberg. Sympathy cards
were sent to Irene and Robert
Schiemenz, upon the death of her
mother, Carrie Tabola. Sympathy
cards went out to Helen Zapalac, upon
the death of her husband, Jerry, with
cards also sent to his children, Mark
and Cindy Zapalac and Wayne and
Melinda Zapalac. A sympathy card
was sent to Patrick Archer, brother of
Christina Archer. Our condolences to
all of these families upon their losses.
Sister Barbara Hykel, Fraternal
Activities Coordinator, gave a report
on the Bowl for the Cure that will be
held on February 18 in Austin, with
proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen
Cancer Foundation. She also reminded
all of the straight domino toumament
coming up on March 4 at Lodge 66,
Waco in Elm Mott, Texas, and Join
Hands Day coming up in May.
Those in attendance with February
birthdays were Sisters Mary Neckar,
Hattie Kaska, and Evelyn Stuckly. A
happy birthday to each of you and to
all with a birthday this month. Also,
little John Peterson celebrated his
birthday on Febmary 4.
Dooř prizes were drawn with the
$5 dooř prize winner being Georgie
Soukup. Congratulations! The Pro-
gressive dooř prize winner was
Matthew Beseda, who was not pres-
ent.

State FAC Installs
Lodge 24* Cyclone Officers
Lodge 24, Cyclone held its month-
ly meeting on Monday, Febmary 13,
2006. State Fraternal Activities
Coordinator Michael Morris was on
hand to install the 2006 officers.
Brother Morris gave a report on
upcoming activities such as the 2006
membership campaign, Action ’06
SPJST - Always on the Move; the
Second Annual Bowl for the Cure;
and State Straight and 42 Domino
Toumaments.
Regarding the SPJST Incentive
Program, Michael touched on some
easy-to-fulfill categories that the
lodge might focus on in 2006. He
went on to thank the lodge for its cer-
tifieate sales and fraternal efforts in
2005 and encouraged them to reach
even higher in 2006. He pointed out
how increased partieipation in the
program eould result in increased

member satisfaction, more lodge rev-
enue, and an increase in the annual
incentive award.
Brother Morris also gave a brief
summary of job duties to newly-elect-
ed lodge Vice President/FAC Johnnie
Klečka, along with some tips on how
to best record and report the lodge’s
fraternal support and community
Service activities in 2006.
Much discussion was held about
holding informal “classes” to teach
the game of taroks. The lodge will
network with members of Lodge 47,
Seaton to see this idea through.
