seven videos were checked out
during the week.
Summer is a busy season at
the inn, so proprietor Jo Ma-
rie Rose and handyman Mark
Taylor have spent a lot of time
together working around the
property. Despite some folks’
good-natured claims to the con-
trary, Jo Marie insists that Mark
is only a friend. However, she
seems to be thinking about this
particular friend a great deal
lately. Jo Marie knows surpris-
ingly little about Mark’s life,
due in no small part to his refus-
al to discuss it. She’s determined
to learn more about his past, but
first she must face her own—
and welcome three visitors who,
like her, are setting out on new
paths.
Twenty-three-year-old El-
be Reynolds is taking a leap of
faith. She’s come to Cedar Cove
to meet Tom, a man she’s been
corresponding with for months
and with whom she might even
be falling in love. Elbe’s over-
protective mother disapproves
of her trip, but Elbe is deter-
mined to spread her wings.
Maggie and Roy Porter are
next to arrive at the inn. They
are taking their first vacation
alone since their children were
bom. In the wake of past mis-
takes, they hope to rekindle the
spark in their marriage—and to
win back each other’s tmst. But
Maggie must make one last con-
fession that could forever tear
them apart.
For each of these characters,
it will ultimately be a moment
when someone wore their heart
on their sleeve—and took pen to
paper—that makes all the differ-
ence.

Archer County Sheriffs
Weekly Report
SHERIFF STACI BEESINGER
The Sheriff’s Office received
112 Calls for Service during the
past 7 day period ending Sun-
day, October 5th, 2014. On the
day of this report there were 27
individuals incarcerated in the
Archer County Jail consisting of
23 men and 4 women.
On Monday morning, a resi-
dent in the Huff Community
reported that someone had used
his debit card number and made
purchases totaling over $370.
The incident occurred at a Su-
per Walmart in Canton, Ohio. It
is not known how the perpetra-
tor gained access to the man’s
account number however the
reporting party told the deputy
that he had made a purchase
several months ago at a Home
Depot Store, whose credit infor-
mation database had been com-
promised. It is suggested that
anyone using credit and debit
cards should check your ac-
counts daily to search for suspi-
cious purchases and withdraw-
als. In most cases, the banks
issuing the cards will reimburse
fraudulent transactions once a
report has been made to law en-
forcement.
On Tuesday afternoon,
an Archer County Constable
made contact with a vehicle on
US 281 south of Windthorst.
The female driver was exhib-
iting signs of being under the
influence of an intoxicating
substance. Upon investiga-
tion, it was discovered that she
had just left a clinic in Wichita
Falls where she had received
some sort of treatment. Wind-
thorst 1st Responders went to
the scene to assist the woman
until an ambulance arrived. She
was transported by ambulance
to a Wichita Falls hospital. The
following day, an off duty DPS
Trooper made contact with the
same woman who had pulled
over on US 281 at the Wichita
Livestock Sale Bam. Again, she
was not able to safely operate
her vehicle. A family member
was called to pick up the woman
and she was instmcted not to
operate a vehicle until she could
safely do so.
On Tuesday evening, a
Lakeside City resident reported
that subjects in a white pickup
and a black 4 wheel drive pick-
up drove by his home and shot
at him with paint ball guns. He
told deputies that the paint balls
hit his vehicle and his house.
He believed it to be juvenile
males in the vehicles. Deputies
searched the area but did not lo-
cate the subjects involved. This
type of criminal mischief will
not be tolerated and arrests will
be made and/or citations issued
if caught.
On Wednesday night,
a deputy and Holliday police
went to a Holliday residence
looking for a woman wanted
out of Wichita County on a
dmg charge. The woman was
located and placed under arrest
for Possession of a Controlled
Substance PG 1 in a Dmg Free
Zone. She was transported to
the Archer County Jail and held
on a $20,000 bond until she was
picked up by Wichita County
authorities.
Just after lam on
Thursday morning, deputies and
Holliday police responded to a
report of a domestic disturbance
at a Holliday residence. The
caller said a man hit the caller’s
sister and knocked her out. The
caller also reported that the man
broke the woman’s phone and
tried to mn over her with his
vehicle. Holliday 1st Respond-
ers arrived with officers to treat
the woman. She was eventu-
ally transported by ambulance
to a Wichita Falls hospital for
treatment. The man was placed
under arrest for Assault Family
Violence and transported to the
Archer County Jail. He was re-
leased Thursday afternoon after
posting a $7500 bond.
On Friday morning, an
Archer City resident reported
that someone had stolen her
identity and attempted to obtain
several credit cards by filling out
online applications. The report-
ing party told officers that she
had been contacted by several
banks and stores asking if she
had in fact applied for the credit
cards. It is not known how the
perpetrator obtained the identity
information which was used.
Fraudulent Use of Identifying
Information is a felony and an
investigator is working with the
banks and stores to try and iden-
tify the user.
Later that afternoon,
deputies responded to a deer
lease camp off FM 368 south of
Holliday after a hunter reported
that the camp had been burglar-
ized. Two hunters at the scene
told deputies that they had left
the camp that morning and when
they returned that afternoon,
someone had removed a lock
and chain from the gate leading
to the camp and had broken into
their campers. Several items
were stolen including a bow
with arrows, rifle ammunition,
binoculars, and other hunting
equipment. Deputies are inves-
tigating and a suspect has been
developed.
Just after 2am on Sat-
urday morning, deputies rushed
to assist Wichita Falls police and
Wichita County deputies with
the crash of an Air Evac helicop-
ter in downtown Wichita Falls.
The Air Evac crew was flying a
shooting victim to United Re-
gional Hospital from Oklahoma
when it went down near the
hospital. The shooting victim
was killed in the crash and the
pilot and crew members remain
in critical condition as reported
on the day of this report. Please
keep all involved and their fami-
lies in your prayers.
Around 9pm on Satur-
day evening, Archer City police
were called to Allsups in Archer
City to check welfare on a sub-
ject in the parking lot. The man
was acting strange and a consent
search of his vehicle was per-
formed by the officer. Nothing
illegal was found and the of-
ficer then left the scene. About
an hour later the man was still
sitting in the parking lot of the
store and flashed his headlights
at the officer when he drove by.
The officer and deputies stopped
to check on the man again and
then found an illegal substance,
methamphetamine, in the man’s
possession. He was placed un-
der arrest and transported to the
Archer County Jail. He was re-
leased on Monday on a personal
recognizance bond approved by
the District Attorney.
Just before 10am on
Sunday morning, Deputies, Ar-
cher City fire department and
ambulance, and DPS responded
to a one vehicle rollover acci-
dent on Hwy 79 near Chalk Hill.
A couple with a small child were
in the vehicle which rolled over
at least two times after the driver
attempted to pull back onto the
roadway from the shoulder area.
The driver did not see a vehicle
approaching until the last min-
ute causing the driver to over-
correct which overturned his ve-
hicle. All involved were wearing
seatbelts and the child was in a
safety seat. No one was injured
in the crash.
Just before 2pm on
Sunday afternoon, a DPS Troop-
er stopped a vehicle in Wind-
thorst for a traffic violation.
The male driver was checked
and found to be in possession
