Archer County Sheriff's
Weekly Report
iy Sheriff Staci Beesinger
In the wee hours of Mon-
day morning, deputies and 1st
responders were called to a
Lakeside City residence at the
request of a male subject living
there. The caller said he wanted
an ambulance and had called
one earlier but it never came.
When officers arrived, they
found out that a woman living
in the residence had called to
cancel the ambulance and said it
was a prank call. Evidently, the
18 year old man had just been
released from the hospital and
was suffering from some mental
difficulties. The man told of-
ficers that he was fine but was
upset because the sleeping pill
he had taken was not working.
That afternoon, a Scotland
business owner reported that
a young man driving a bobtail
van truck stopped at his busi-
ness and asked him for money.
The business owner became
suspicious of the truck driver
and called the trucking compa-
ny displayed on the side of the
truck. The trucking company,
located in Greenville, Tx., said
the truck had been stolen ear-
lier that morning. The business
owner followed the truck to the
Grocery Store in Scotland. Dep-
uties arrived and located the 18
year old truck driver inside the
store. The driver was placed un-
der arrest for Theft over $1500
under $20,000 and transported
to the Archer County Jail. The
truck was impounded and later
picked up by the trucking com-
pany.
On Tuesday morning, an Ar-
cher City woman called to report
a possible theft. She said she
saw a man and woman load an
air conditioner into a gold or tan
Mercury and head east on Hwy
25. Officers were alerted and a
DPS Trooper located the vehicle
on US 281 near Coleman Rd. A
stop was conducted and 3 win-
dow unit air conditioners were
inside the vehicle. The female
driver and male passenger ad-
mitted to officers that they had
taken the units without permis-
sion. The two occupants were
placed under arrest for Theft
and transported to the Archer
County Jail. A baby that was in-
side the vehicle was released to
Child Protective Services until a
relative could be cleared to take
custody of the child.
On Tuesday evening, depu-
ties conducted a traffic stop on
Hwy 79 near Cottonwood Rd on
a vehicle for failure to maintain
a single lane. The female driver
emitted a strong smell of an al-
coholic beverage. The officer
administered field sobriety tests
and determined that the woman,
who lives in Olney, was driv-
ing while intoxicated. She was
placed under arrest and trans-
ported to the Archer County Jail.
Early Wednesday evening,
deputies observed a van parked
on the side of Hwy 79 north of
Archer City. The male and fe-
male subjects inside appeared
to be having some type of argu-
ment. When deputies stopped
to check on the occupants the
vehicle attempted to drive away.
The van stopped again once the
driver realized it was an offi-
cer behind him. A check of the
driver revealed that his license
was suspended with previous
conviction. He was placed un-
der arrest and transported to the
Archer County Jail. The female
passenger did not have a valid
driver’s license either and was
transported to a local business to
wait for a ride. The vehicle was
impounded.
Later that same evening, depu-
ties and other officers responded
to a call from a woman who said
her life was being threatened
by her boyfriend. The woman
had left the residence located
off FM 1954 and had flagged
down a motorist travelling to-
ward Lake Arrowhead. When
officers arrived they interviewed
the woman who was extremely
intoxicated. Officers went to
the residence to try and speak
with the man involved. He was
not located on the property and
it was later learned that he had
left before officers arrived. The
woman was incoherent and was
eventually arrested for Public
Intoxication. A report was made
and turned over to an investiga-
tor for follow up.
Early Thursday morning, dep-
uties and emergency personnel
responded to a two vehicle acci-
dent on Hwy 79 just north of FM
1954. Both vehicles were dam-
aged and had to be towed from
the scene. One driver, a 19 year
old female, was transported to a
Wichita Falls hospital with non
life threatening injuries. The
other driver was not injured.
Later that same morning, dep-
uties responded to a disturbance
at an Archer City residence be-
tween a man and woman. The
reporting person, who wished to
remain anonymous, said that the
two were in the front yard and
the man was going to beat up the
woman. When officers arrived,
they saw the woman walking
away from the residence carry-
ing her personal belongings. She
told officers that she had a ver-
bal argument with the man and
she was leaving the residence.
Since no assault had occurred,
the officers cleared the scene
once the woman was gone.
Just before lunchtime, a man
frantically called 911 and re-
ported that he was driving a
truck out in a field in Dundee
and had clipped an electrical
pole causing it to fall onto his
truck. A transformer on the pole
was dangling at the driver’s door
and had caught on fire. The man
was instructed to stay inside the
truck to avoid the possibility of
being electrocuted. Oncor was
notified but gave an estimated
time of arrival at one hour. Ka-
may Electric responded and the
power was cut to the pole and
transformer allowing the man
to safely exit the truck so the
pole could be removed from the
truck.
Early Friday morning, depu-
ties met with Wichita County of-
ficers at a residence on US 281
in Archer County to search for
a wanted man who didn’t show
up for his trial in Wichita Falls.
Wichita County officers had re-
ceived information that the man
may be hiding out at a mobile
home belonging to a former
girlfriend. Officers searched the
residence and surrounding area
but did not locate the man. He
was later located behind a local
Wichita Falls Truck Stop.

Later that same morning, an
Archer City man called in to
report that some men repre-
senting themselves as being af-
filiated with a paving company
called “Pavetec” had contracted
to do some asphalt work for
his parents. The men came out
and performed some work but
grossly overcharged for the
work performed. Unfortunately,
the men were paid in advance
and since they performed some
of the work this case becomes a
civil matter. It is highly recom-
mended that you DO NOT pay
up front for any work to be done
especially if you do not know
who you are dealing with.
Just before midnight, depu-
ties responded to a report of a
reckless driver who ran through
a yard at the comer of Ash and
Main in Archer City. The caller
said the vehicle left the scene
and headed west on Hwy 25. A
short time later, the reporting
person called back to say the
vehicle came back by and was
now headed east on Hwy 25.
Deputies located the vehicle and
stopped it in the 100 block of S.
Center. The female driver told
officers she had also mn through
a fence just west of the Archer
City limits. The driver was
checked but was not under the
influence of alcohol or dmgs.
She admitted that she and her
boyfriend had been fighting in
the vehicle and that had affected
her driving. She was issued cita-
tions for her recklessness.
On Saturday evening, deputies
were dispatched to Megargel to
check out a report of reckless
driving occurring around town.
While patrolling the area, depu-
ties observed a man on a mo-
torcycle and conducted a traf-
fic stop for a traffic violation. A
check of the man’s driver’s li-
cense showed it to be suspended
with previous conviction. The
man was placed under arrest and
transported to the Archer Coun-
ty Jail. The motorcycle was im-
pounded.
On Sunday morning, deputies
were called to Lake Kickapoo
to investigate a report of theft.
The reporting person told offi-
cers that someone had removed
gasoline from a vehicle parked
in the driveway of the residence.
There have been other reports
of this type of theft in the recent
past. A close patrol check of the
area and other means of catch-
ing the thief have been put into
place. The Sheriff’s Office re-
quests that all residents call in to
report any suspicious persons or
activity in the area.
The Sheriff’s Imnate Work
Crew had their hands full this
week performing yard main-
tenance on nine county main-
tained properties on Friday and

“Thank You” goes out to Billy
Jack Wright for providing a cold
drink and snack to the work-
ers and for taking the time to
share some of his life’s experi-
ences with the crew. Also, a big
“Thank You” goes out to Bub-
ba Turner for providing lawn
equipment supplies, fuel, and
lunch, prepared by RT’s in Hol-
liday, for the crew on Saturday.

Texas Ranger Playoff Goal
When the major league base-
ball season begins, thirty teams
begin a long journey with a com-
mon goal. That goal is to make
the post-season, win a division
series, win a league series, and
win the World Series. In less
than two weeks, eight teams will
begin their post-season journey.
It is time for the excitement to
build, as our Texas Rangers will
have the opportunity to accom-
plish their goal.
While the Rangers have not
mathematically made the post-
season, it may be premature to
speak of the playoffs. However,
they are on the brink of clinch-
ing their division. It would
take a tragic melt-down for the
Rangers to miss the playoffs.
Ron Washington and his boys
will not let that happen. They
have the experience and focus to
take care of business. So, let’s
proceed with the thought of our
Texas Rangers beginning their
playoff run on October 6th. That
is an exciting thought!
If the Rangers maintain the best
record in the American League,
they will have home-field ad-
vantage in the division series.
They are likely to play the Balti-
more Orioles or Oakland Athlet-
ics in that series. With the new
playoff format, there will be
two wild card teams who have
a one-game playoff. The win-
ner of that game will play the
team with the best record in the
American League. If the season
ended today, the Orioles and
Athletics would play one game,
with the winner playing Texas in
the division series.
If they survive the division
series, they will have home-
field advantage in the American
League Championship series.
They are likely to see the New
York Yankees, Detroit Tigers,
or Chicago Whitesox in that
series. We will just have to see
how those teams finish. We also
must maintain the best record
in the American League for this
statement to be true. Home-
field advantage has been a big
factor for the Rangers. It would
be a great help!
If the Rangers can win their
third consecutive American
League Championship, or pen-
nant, they will have another
chance at the elusive World
Series title. In the World Se-
ries, home-field advantage will
belong to the National League
opponent. Remember the All-
Star game? Yes, that determined
home-field advantage for the
National League.
Well, this article has filled
your mind with a bunch of “if’
and a lot of hope. However, it
is great to have that kind of hope
as October approaches. Until
the Texas Rangers turned into a
winning organization, October
was focused on the Cowboys.
The Cowboys still need your
love and affection, but let’s put
major focus on the Texas Rang-
ers right now.
It is time to finish strong and
maintain the best record in the
American League. It is time to
win a division series. It is time
to win the American League
championship, again. It is time
to get to the World Series and
accomplish our goal. Bust out
your good luck charms and pre-
pare for playoff baseball! Put
some Texas Ranger pride in
your back pocket.

SUBSIDIES ARE BAD
Government subsidies are bad because they take money from the taxpayers and give it to
special interests. It is no different in Archer County.
My opponent and I both have private law practices. Mine is based out of my office and his is
based out of the Archer County Courthouse Annex. I pay a mortgage. I pay an electric bill. I
pay a water bill. I pay for those things necessary to run a private business.
My opponent does not pay rent. My opponent does not pay for electricity. My opponent does
not pay a water bill.
Who pays for these things? Archer Countv taxpayers. Ask yourself if it is right for your tax
dollars to be used to subsidize a private business run out of a county office.
As County Attorney I will keep my private practice out of county office space. You have better
things to do with your tax money.
I would sincerely appreciate your vote.

Walsh cont’d from pg. 1
if you saw Allan, that’s where
you wanted to sit,” said Tuck-
er. “My favorite memory of
Alan was when the AC Wildcat
7 on 7 Football Team of 2010
made it to the state tournament
in College Station. We were
1 game away from playing in
the championship game that’s
played in Kyle Field that would
have been Alan’s highest sport-
ing event ever to watch if his
beloved Wildcats played in the
Aggie “worship” Kyle Field.
The Wildcats lost the game, but
Alan picked up their spirits by
buying all the team members a
State 7 on 7 Tournament T-Shirt.
He did not want the players to
know who bought the T-shirts
for them... but they did!!! ”
One of the funniest stories
told about Allen by his brother
Fred was the time he asked his
mother, who was a bit naive, if
he could take the car to Las Ve-
gas. She asked where Las Ve-
gas was, and Allen replied that it
was west of Seymour. His mom
saw no problem with that, and
Allen and his buddies made the
trip. This was the prankster in
Allen, a job he took seriously in
high school as well. However,
rarely did he get caught because
who would suspect the straight
“A” Valedictorian student to be
the one pulling crazy pranks?
Because Allen was single un-
til the age of 47, he enjoyed the
luxury of being a world traveler.
It was on one of his trips to the
Palawan Philippines that he met
his wife, the woman that would
finally capture his heart. They
built their dream home on a sce-
nic beach in El Nido, Palawan,
a place they considered heaven
on earth.
According to classmate and
good friend Mike Aulds, Allen
was a man who gave generously
of himself and his money, to
make Archer City and this world
a better place. From sponsor-
ing little league football teams,
to helping foster children in
the Philippines to contributing
to the Twelfth Man Formation
of A&M, to providing honey-
moons for friends, or entertain-
ing and feeding hosts of friends
and family.
He and his brother Fred were
instrumental in rebuilding the
Walsh brothers station which
his family graciously donated to
the Archer Community Founda-
tion, leaving a tribute to their fa-
ther and Uncle who owned the
filling station.
Fred said of his brother, “He
left his mark on this earth in
Archer City, at Texas A&M,
in Houston, across the State
of Texas, and various places
around the world.”
The funeral was the first to
be held in the Royal Theater and
while it was a little unconven-
tional as funerals go all in at-
tendance dubbed it a fitting fare-
well and a perfect tribute to and
celebration of the life of Allen
Walsh. Sentiments expressed
by the Jentsch family are held
by his friends and family: “God
bless you, Allen. You will al-
ways be remembered.”
