No Place On Sunday?
Ttoere?s no place to go on Sunday night! That state-
ment wasn’t true for the past several weeks because the
Southwestern Union Building has been open Tor students
on Sunday night.
Members of the Union staff (Mr. John Stone,
Director of the Union, and Mrs. Jeff Campbell — £>helia
to the McKenzie room crowd) took time from their own
Sunday night schedule to keep the Union open from 8 to
10:30.
Well the crying hordes who had yelled “We need some-
place to go” showed up in mass that first Sunday — 16
of them. Some came and left. Some stayed for the even-
ing. Most of those who stayed through the night did take
advantage of the time for reading and studying.
- Since the first week, crowds have varied, but never
have they been the size which would seem to justify
keeping the Union open.
The second Sunday night two students were present
for an hour and a half. During the evening five students^
came by.
The third Sunday saw a total of 21 Students come, but
only 7 used the Union for study purposes. Nine watched
television and five worked on Christmas decorations for
the Union.
Arrangements have been made to keep the Union open
'this Sunday night, and as usual, Union staff will 'be on
hand. The Union Governing Board voted to have the
. Union open on a trial basis, and discussion concerning
the worth of the trial run will be a part of the next board
, meeting.
What the Governing Board will do we don’t know, but
from where we are sitting, it looks as if the trial open-
ing of the Union has proved nothing more than our
campus has 90 percent moire cryers than participants.
And these cryers are perfectly welcome to yell “There’s
no place on Sunday night,” because there was and no one
seemed to care.

There's something almost voluptuous
