A. D., 1964, the Board of Directors
of the Refugio County Water Con-
trol and Improvement District No.
One convened in regular session
with the following members pre-
sent, to-wit:
Edgar Lenhart. President,
M. C. Tompkins,
M. E. Roe,
J. L. Coen,
and the following absent: Robert
F. Villarreal, constituting a quo-
rum, and among other proceed-
ings had by said Board of Direc-
tors was the following.
WHEREAS, on the next ensuing
first Tuesday in April, being the
7th day of April, A. D., 1964,
there will be elected five direc-
tors for this district;
1 WHEREAS this Board by order
dated the 2nd day of March, A.
D., 1964, established the procedure
for candidates who desire to file
for said election;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDER-
ED BY THE BOARD OF DIREC-
TORS OF REFUGIO COUNTY
WATER CONTROL. AND IM-
PROVEMENT DISTRICT NO.
ONE:
That an election be held in said
district on the first Tuesday in
April, A. D., 1964, the same being
the 7th day of April, A. D., 1964,
for the purpose of electing five di-
rectors to the Board of Directors
of said Directors;
That said election shall be held
at the following place in said Dis-
trict, and the following named
persons are hereby appointed of-
ficers for said election.
1. At the Refugio Water Control
and Improvement District No. One
Office in the Town of Tivoli, Texas,
within said District with Mrs.
Maude Keller as Presiding Judge,
Mrs. Lee Rabke, as Assistant
Judge and Mrs. Maude Barber as
Clerk.
The following named persons
have duly filed as candidates for
said election in accordance with
the above mentioned order for
election procedure in Directors
Election passed by this Board, and
their names shall be placed on the
ballot for said election in alpha-
betical order as follows:

Edgar Lenhart
Richard Martinez
M. E. Roe
N. C. Tompkins
Adolfo Villarreal
Roberto F. Villarreal
Notice of said election shall be
given by publication of a copy of
this order once a week for three
consecutive weeks in a newspaper
of general circulation published in
the County in wlhich this district is
located, or if none is published
in said County in the nearest
County thereto, the first publica-
tion shall be at least 21 days prior
to the date of election, and not
more than 35 days prior thereto.
Immediately after said election
has been held, the officers holding
the same shall mlake returns of
the result thereof in triplicate, one
being retained by the Presiding
Judge, one delivered to the Presi-
dent of this Board, and one de-
livered to the' Secretary. The
ballot box and other election rec-
ords and supplies shall be deliv-
ered to the Secretary at the office
of the District and be preserved
as provided by law in said office
except that the Stub box shall be
returned to the District Clerk for
this County.
The above order being read, it
was moved and seconded that
same do pass. Thereupon, the
question being called for, the fol-
lowing members of the' Board vot-
ed AYE: Edgar Lenhart, J. L.
Coon, N. C. Tompkins.. M. E. Roe
and the following voted NO: None
PASSED, APPROVED AND
ADOPTED this the 9th day of

Refugio. — The annual Refugio
High School Student Council spon-
sored Career Day was held at the
school Tuesday afternoon, March
24. Guests of the school were 96
seniors from Woodsboro, Goliad
and Austwell - Tivoli High Schools.
Also attending the sessions were
176 Junior and Senior students of
Refugio High School.
'Registration at 12:10 p.m. was
followed by a general assembly in
the auditorium at which student
council vice president Tommjy Al-
len gave the invocation and pledge
of allegiance. Principal J. R. Chap-
man gave the welcome and A1
English directed selections by the
Refugio High School Choir. Stu-
dent Council president Bobby Ha-
ley introduced the speaker, Mrs.
Winton Moseley of the Texas Em-
ployment Commission.
Sectional meetings were held for
the remainder of the afternoon
Each student was permitted to at-
tend three sectional meetings con-
ducted by representatives of var-
ious occupational areas.
Each representatives discussed
with the students their occupation,
giving a description of the occupa-
tion, its requirements, its rewards
and how to get started in ones
chosen field.
Representatives and their car-
eer areas were as follows:
Agriculture (including ranching,
veterinary, forestry, conservation,
taxidermist, county agent, trap-
ping), Harvey Hoermann, County
Agent in Goliad County; banking,
Fred W. Jackson, vice - presi-
dent, First National Bank in Re-
fugio; beautician, Miss Nancy
Shieve, Myrtle’s Beauty Shop; en-
gineering, Homer Inness, Lock-
wood, Andrews and iNewman, Inc.,
of Corpus Christi;
Health careers (including doc-
tor, laboratory tedmician, x-ray
technician, physical therapist,
