Affected farmers reminded
Notices to approximately 170
delinquent borrowers financed by
the Farmers Home
Administration (FmHA) in
Gaines and Andrews counties arc
expected to mailed this week.
Any account that is more than
180 days delinquent will be sent a
notice in compliance with the
Agricultural Credit Act of 1987,
which stipulates that delinquent
accounts must be informed in
writing of what options are open
to them.
As many as 5,000 farmers in
Texas are expected to receive the
notices, while approximately
118,000 will be mailed nation-
wide.
Farmers are being urged not to
ignore the letter, which is 15

According to officials with the
FmHA, the document will outline

from the Texas Farm Foundation
of Brownfield, which is offering
information concerning the
Agricultural Credit Act.

STATEMENT OF INTENT
TO CHANGE RATES
GTE Southwest Incorporated, in
accordance with the Public
Utility Regulatory Act and the
Public Utility Commission ot
Texas’ rules, hereby gives
notice of its intent to implement
a new schedule of rates for its
customers who reside in Gaines
County, Texas but who are
seived through its Hobbs, New
Mexico exchange. The Public
Utility Commission has assigned
this rate application to Docket
No. 7530.
The proposed rate changes,
which will affect all customer
classes, will affect 85 of the
Company’s Texas customers.

An Eagle Scout Court of Honor will take
place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for Harvey
Anderson. The event will be held at the
M.S. Doss Chapel. Anderson, 18, the son
Eagle °f Carol Anderson of Seminole, worked
seven years on his Eagle project, and
attained five rank advances, completed
numerous projects and earned 21 merit
award badges, 11 of which arc designated for
the Eagle rank. Anderson is the first
Seminole scout to earn the award in three
years and is one of only 2 per cent of
scouts nation-wide who cam the honor.

Turkey shoot slated today
A turkey shoot, sponsored by
the Seminole Volunteer Fire
Department, will be held from 12
noon to dark today (Sunday).
The shoot, like the similar
shoot held last Sunday, will be
held in the area north of Seminole
near Gaines County Farm Supply.
Tickets are $2 per participant
and participants will be furnished
shells. Participants should bring
their own guns, but will be able to
borrow a gun if they do not have
one of their own.
Proceeds from the shoot will
go to the general fund of the fire
department.
