"TO WHOM IT MAY
CONCERN"
Notice is hereby given that the
Commissioners Court of Terrell
County, Texas, will offer for lease
and will in their discretion lease
for oil, gas and other related
hydrocarbons and sulphur
produced in connection with oil
and/or gas to the highest and best
bidder submitting a bid therefor, a
lease on the following described
tracts of land situated in Gaines
County, Texas, to wit:
W/2 of Labor 1, All of Labor 2,
All of Labor 3, E/2 of Labor 4,
NE/4 of Labor 7, All of Labor 8,
NW/4 of Labor 12 and N/2 of
Labor 13 all in League 309 of
Terrell County School Lands in
Gaines County, Texas.
The lease must provide for a
primary term of not more than
three (3) years from the date of
execution and approval by lessor,
a royalty of not less than 3/16 of
the gross production to be
retained by lessor; that all
royalties accruing under the lease
shall be without deduction for the
cost of production, gathering,
storing, separating, treating,
dehydrating, compressing,
processing, transporting, and
otherwise making the oil, gas and
other products produced
thereunder ready for sale and use;
that the bonus consideration for
the lease be not less than $100.00
per acre; that the lease provide for
an annual delay rental of at least
S5.00 per acre; that the lease may
not be maintained in force solely
by the payment of shut-in gas
royalty for a period in excess of
three (3) years beyond the date of
shut-in; that the lease must
provide for reasonable and
customary damages to the surface
estate, including crops, caused by
operations of lessee on the leased
premises and including
reasonable and customary
compensation in the area of the
above described land for well
locations, pipelines and roads,
and that no potable water suitable
for irrigation purposes from the
above described land shall be
used in secondary recovery
operations, and that one well will
not hold more than 320 acres, said
320 acres to be designated by the
lessee according to the rules and
regulations of the Railroad
Commission of the State of
Texas, or other ruling
governmental agency, and
contain a proportionate reduction
clause, and said lease to otherwise
contain terms, covenants and
provisions acceptable to the
Commissioners Court of Terrell
County, Texas.
Said Commissioners Court will
meet on the 9th day of January,
1989 in the County Courtroom in
the Courthouse of Terrell County,
Texas, in the town of Sanderson,
texas, at 9:30 A.M. to receive and
consider any and all bids
submitted for the leasing of the
above described land, and in the
discretion of such Commissioners
Court will award the lease of the
above tracts of land to the highest
and best bidder submitting a bid
therefor, provided that FfT
judgment of such Commissioners
Court the bids submitted do not
represent the fair value of such
lease, such Commissioners Court
in their discretion may reject
same and again give notice and
call for additional bids.
Each bid is to be mailed or
delivered in a scaled envelope to
Charles Stavlcy, County Judge of
Terrell County, Texas, whose
address is Box 674, Sanderson,
Texas 79848.

The Gaines County ASCS Office
is accepting bids for
JANITORIAL SERVICES.
Service is to be offered twice
weekly.
Bids will be accepted from Dec.
12 through Dec. 16, 1988.-
The Seminole freshman girls
basketball team took a thriller
from Denver City Monday, 40-
38, raising its overall record to 4-
2.
The locals held a 10-6 first
quarter lead and a 14-13 halftime
edge. Denver City held a 25-22
third period advantage.
Cherry Dunnam and Dayma
Cope paced scoring with eight
points each, while Brandy French
added six, Isabel Casarez, Julia
Guzman and Celia Espino came
through with four each and
Gricelda Cuevas and Mytee
Condarco threw in two each.
Friday and Saturday, the
freshmen won second place in the
Seminole Tournament, losing to
Scagraves in the final game, 57-
39.
Scagraves held a 6-2 first
quarter lead and a 19-12 halftime
edger Scagraves took a 43-22
lead at the end of the third stanza.
Cope led scoring with eight
points, while French and Dunnam
put in six each, Julie Spears,
Espino and Condarco each
bucketed four, Cuevas came
through with three and Casarez
had two.
Earlier, The locals had
defeated Lamesa, 47-37.
After an 8-8 tie at the end of
the first quarter, Seminole jumped
to a 22-14 halftime lead and a 33-
28 third period advantage.
Dunnam had 13 points to lead
scoring, while Cope pul in eight,
Casarez, Cuevas and Belly Grado
had six each, Espino added four
and French and Spears bucketed
two each.
In the first round, Seminole
defeated Andrews, 67-26.
Seminole led 21-0 at the of the
first stanza and 44-14 at halftime.
It was 57-18 at the third quarter
break.
Cope had 13 to lead scoring,
while Casarez and Guzman came
through with 12 each, Cuevas
added 11, Espino had six, French
and Spears put in four each,
Condarco and Grado had two
each and Dunnam contributed
one.
The freshmen will be back in
action Monday at 7:30 p.m.,
travelling to Slaton.
Swimmers in Carlsbad meet
The Seminole Aqua Tribe
swim team participate^ in the
Carlsbad meet Saturday and,
according to coach Tim Sage, his
young team competed well.
In the boys’ division, the 200-
yard medley relay team was 10th
with a time of 2:12.30. The team
consists of Mike O’Leary, Harvey
Anderson, Ricky Martinez and
Shawn Beckett
Individually, O’Leary was fifth
in the 100 backstroke with a time
of 1:13.51 and eighth in the 50
freestyle with a time of :26.45.

freestyle in a time of 2:42.22 and
16th in the 100 breaststroke in a
time of 1:27.12.
Martinez was 15lh in the 50
freestyle with a time of :28.28 and
13tli in the 100 freestyle in a time
of 1:04.38.
Beckett finished 11th in the
200 freestyle in a time of 2:30.96
and 13th in the 100 backstroke in
a time of 1:34.57.
Also competing for Seminole
was Kenneth Seay, who finished
19th in the 50 freestyle in a lime
of :29.51 and 14th in the 100
freestyle with a lime of 1:05.12;
Chris Tomason, 21st in the 100
freestyle with a time of 1:12.73
and 14th in the 100 backstroke
with a time of 1:37.19; and
Dewayne Partain, 17lh in the 100
breaststroke with a lime of
1:27.27.
In the girls’ division, the 400
freestyle relay team, consisting of
Chelsea Whitaker, Bcatc Tuczck,
Amy Flippen and Sonjia Jurado,
was fifth in time of 5:19.39.
Individually, Whitaker was
third in the 100 backstroke in a
time of 1:17.50 and eighth in the
200 freestyle in a lime of 2:42.08.
Tuczck was eighth in the 100
freestyle in a time of 1:16.47 and
10th in the 100 breaststroke in a
time of 1:32.73.
Flippen was 14th in die 50
freestyle in a time of :34.42.
Jurado was 11th in the 100
freestyle in a time of 1:25.41.
