Bellfort National opens
Billed as a “genuine
local bank, “Bellfort
National Bank has open-
ed for business at 9000
West Bellfort, just west
of the South Gessner
intersection.
This address is the
location of the main
lobby and six-lane motor
bank. A satellite facility,
including a small lobby
and a drive-in lane, wiil
open in February at
West Bellfort and the
Southwest Freeway.
Chuck Long, presi-
dent of the new bank,
resigned a president of
RcpublicBank Braes
Bayou to accept the
challenge offered by the
independent organi-
zation.
“I've worked for
member banks of three
different holding
companies - two of them
are among the biggest -
and I know an indepen-
dent bank can better
serve a locality,” Long
says.
“When wc planned
this bank, we committed
ourselves to being a
local bank whose pri-
mary role is serving the
community around it.
We adopted the theme,
‘a genuine local bank,'
because it expresses our
commitment.’’
But, there's more to
Bellfort Bank’s local
commitment than just a
slogan, according to
Long. “One important
thing the average bank
customer wants, but
seldom gets from larger
banks, is ready access to
a bank officer. At Bell-
fort, we assign on officer
to every customer. Each
customer has somebody
to call whenever he or
she needs help or
advice.”
Long quickly points
out that Bellfort
National is a full-service
bank, despite its local
emphasis. “We offer
complete personal and
commercial banking ser-
vices, including asset
management and dis-
count brokerage ser-
vices. We also belong to
the Pulse automated
teller system, and we

Bellfort National Bank
is now open
Bellfort National Bank is a new, indepen-
dent bank founded to serve the people and
businesses in the West Bellfort/South
Gessner area of southwest Houston.
If your home or business is in this
area, here are some good reasons for you to
bank with us.
We are a genuine local bank.
• Our future is tied to the future of the
surrounding community — its residents ano
its businesses. We have a real stake in you.
• Our founders, officers and directors either
live in this area or do business here, or both.
Banking decisions that affect you aren't
made downtown, by people who dun'i
know our customers.
• Our customers don’t pay for expensive,
widespread media advertising and public
relations programs to support a far-flung
empire of banks.
• Our customers don’t compete with huge
corporations for attention or for loans.
Convenience
Our main lobby and motor bank are
at 9000 West Bellfort, just west of South
Gessner We also have a freeway lobby
and motor bank at West Bellfort and the
Southwest Freeway (opening February).

as your personal banking contact. No mat-
ter what you need, you always know exactly
who to cal) for information and assistance.

any questions about your account(s), either
over the phone or in person.
Higher interest on deposits

some distant holding company. We set them
to reflect the situation in our market area.
As a rule we pay higher rates than other
banks in this area.
