MOTHER OF CORPUS
CHRISTI PASTOR DIES
A telegram was received here at
6:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon an-
nouncing the death at about noon
yesterday in Bronson, Texas, of Mrs.
C. A. Bickley, mother of the Rev. B.
F® Bickley, pastor of the Park Avenue
Baptist Church, and Mrs. Ben Mc-
Elroy, both of Corpus Christi, and Jack
Bickley, of Robstown. Funeral ser-

Mrs. Bickley has been ill for some
time. Her three children from Nueces
county have been at her bedside for
some days. No further details were
contained in the telegram, Mrs. B. P.
Bickley said last night.—Tuesday’s

between midnight and day, burglars
broke into the store building of the
Rockport Mercantile Co. and deliber-
ately picked out the particular class
of goods they fancied and made their
escape as completely as though the
earth had swallowed them just at the
completion of their crime.
The goods missing included dresses
and hose. Entrance was effected
through the front door on the grocery
side of the building, where the double
doors were sprung sufficiently to al-
low a man. to enter, notwithstanding
the fact that they were locked with
a Yale lock, which was not broken
ajad which was still holding Saturday
morning when they came to open the
store for business.
The Mercantile Co has offered $100
reward for the apprehension of the
burglars, and the sheriff has been
