Wood The Lady Rams returned from their California junket to open their home season with a win against Howard Payne Univcr sity, 15-2, 159 and 153. Coach Becky Hughes used the match to give her freshmen some experience and experiment with new lineups and rotations. Sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. In game one, the Lady Rams cruised to a win. Howard Payne hit weakly while the Spikers capitalized on the Yellow Jack- et's mistakes. In game two the Lady Rams found themselves in trouble. With a new line-up in the game, the Spikers fell prey to mis- communication. They missed passes and failed to return serves. They fought off the ropes and managed to salvage the win. In the last game, Ginger Klop- fenstein could not be stopped. She served 11 straight points before Hughes called a time out to make substitutions When it was all over, the wave of mo mentum carried the Spikers to victory in the match.
