in regular monthly session this week
but there has been very little busi-
ness, other than approving the quar-
terly reports of the officers and ap-
proving some of the accounts.

business in federal court now in ses-

Mrs. S. E. Dean has returned to
her hqme in this city after a visit
with relatives and friends in North-
west Texas.
Mesdames Frank \Carter, Walter
Richards, G. S. White, Sam Shadle
and Miss Helen White were in Fort
Worth, Wednesday attending the
State Federation of Women’s Clubs.
L. D. Hearn, a land owner in Par-
ker and Hood counties, but who now
lives in the Panhandle, is spending
a few days here looking after busi-
ness interests. He says the Panhan-
dle country is dry but be believes
this county is suffering more than
his home county.
Dr. and Mrs. H. F. Leach, Mr. and
Mrs J. M Davidson went to Mineral
Wells'' Thursday * afternoon where
they attended as special guests a
Rotary entertainment, given by the
Mineral Wells club., This club is
staging a play entitled "Turned Up”
and will probably give It in Weath-
erford at a later date.
Jeff Murphy and John Harrison of
the Buckner community were in the
city Thursday looking after business
affairs and attending court. Mr.
Murphy said that the ^Buckner com-
munity was getting mighty dry, but
he felt like a rain would fall there
today. He bases his assertion On the
fact that his community, most always
got what was needed at about the
| right time, and the rain lk heeded
and the time Is right.
