FIRE DESTROYS SHERRILL SHAEFER HOME
Fire completely gutted the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherrill Shaefer last Saturday about noon.
It was reported that their twelve year old daughter was cooking lunch when grease ignited and
spread flames to kitchen curtains which quickly spread to the entire house. The four Shaefer
children were alone at the time, but managed to get out unharmed.

RANCHMEN WIN AT
KENDALL COUNTY FAIR
Bandera was well represented
at the Kendall County Fair in
Boerne this last week-end. Many
high placings were won by local
ranchmen. The Middle Verde
Ranch showed the Reserve Grand
Champion Angora billie and also
the second place aged doe.
Hicks and Pember showed the
Grand Champion aged billie and
the Reserve Champion aged doe.

Pam is a 1964 graduate of Tivy
High School in Kerrville. She is
a pretty brown eyed, brown haired
young lady and tips the scales at
115 pounds. She stands 5 feet
and 6 inches. She is 18 years old.
During her senior year at Tivy
she was a member of the Antler-

She attended Eastern Hills High
School in the Fort Worth Area be-
fore coming to the Hill Country.

tion, $145,000; Transportation,
$19,760; Operation and Mainten-
ance, $12,400; Capital Outlay,
$2993; Debt service, $23,893; and
the rest for miscellaneous expendi-
tures.
All receipts ami balances are
expected to be $251,155. Major
sources of estimated receipts are
as follows: Local, $78,282; County,
$10,700; state, $145,600; Federal,
$3,000. The rest is from other
sources and present balances.
The budget does not include any
part of the Activity Funds nor
' School Lunch Funds.
The Golden Age Group will meet
at the Handera Methodist Church
education building on September
17, from 2 to 5 p.m. Everyone is
