Luther Price, the employe of the
Denison ,& Sherman railway company
who was injured some days ago at
Woodlake and who is at St. Vincent's
sanitarium, is reported to he stead-
ilyv improving.
Rev. J. L. Morris, pastor of the
Travis Street Methodist church, an-
nounces that H. I’. Abney will have
charge of the prayer services this
evening and extends a cordial invita-
tion to the public to attend..
Mrs. Bertha Kunz-Baker will be
in Sherman ^on Jan. 36 to give a
reading at North Texas college. She
lias selected Kennedy's Winter Feus’
for the entertainment of the Sher-
man audience at that time.
J. W Stewart, Jr., left yesterday
for Corsican^to attend the annual
meeting of the Texas Corn Growers’
Association and the Swine Breeders
Association, which convenes there in
joint annual session. The convention
will be in progress for several days.
Mr. Frank Renard gives his an-
nual piano recital Monday evening,
January 23rd, at S o’clock at Kidd-
lvey chapel to which he extends a
eo'dial invitation to It is friends and
a music-loving public. Program will
appear in the Democrat later in the

Mr. Ernest I.; oney and Miss Sallie
Brown were married in Dallas at
the home ot Mc. and Mrs. A. T. As-
king last Saturday evening, Rev.
Cephis Shelburn officiating. The
bride formerly resided in Sherman,
and was employed at the telephone
office here. The groom is a resident
of Pottsboro and the young people
will reside at that place.
The body of little Mary Opel, the.
two-year-old daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. O. Cope c.f Savoy, who died in
this city early yesterday morning,
was shipped to Savoy this afternoon
by the Sherman Undertaking Com-
pany for burial. The child had only
been sick a short time. Mr. anti
Mrs. Cope were visiting in Sherman
when the little daughter was taken
ill.
Elder 1^-S. White of Dallas preach-
ed an excellent sermon at the Hous-
ton Street Church of Christ last
night and the service notwithstand-
ing the inclement weather was large-
ly attended. Thus far during the
services *wenty additions* to the
church havfU’been Hiad and interest
in the meeting continues to he man-
ifested. The minister, Elder Foy E.<
Wallace states the services win con-
tinue for an indefinite period. '
Eugene ('berry, proprietor of the
Sherman Steam Laundry and one
of the best known laundrytnen in the
state, has returned from. Galveston
where he attended the Fifth Annual
convention -of the Texas Laundry-
men's association. Mr. Cherry was
appointed a member of the board of
trustees. The convention closed yes-
terday afternoon and no place was
selected for the next meeting.

Mrs. Harry Sheehey and children,
left this afternoon for Uvalde where
thay will remain for several weeks
