very large number of friends of Geo.
P. Richardson, late editor of the Wea-
therford Daily Herald, met the body at
the train last night and formed an es-
cort to the home of the dead man’s
mother. The funeral was heM this
morning at 10 o'clock. There were
many beautiful floral offerings at the

Votes Down Proposed Schedule.

today voted down the sugar tariff
shcedule proposed by Louisiana and
other sugar states' representatives to
replace the provision for free sugar
in three years. The defeated substi-
tute was for an Immediate ten per
cent reduction, followed by a grad-
ual six-year reduction.

meline Pankhurst, the suffragette
leader, was released from Jail this
morning after being on a hunger
strike ever since her incarceration
nine days ago, to serve three years.
The police expect to return her to*
jail as soon as her health recovers.
