a hot tamale and chili stand, made
complaint to City Marshal Brown that
some young men who he refused to
credit for his cookery had thrown
rocks at him and shot at him with
‘‘rubber.” The rubber turned out to
be sling shots, or what the small boys
call "niggicr shooters." The marshal
promised Cidillo to stop the practice.

In county court the following cases
were disposed of:
K. K. Stewart, to the charge of dis-
turbing the peace, pleaded guilty and
was fined $5 and costs.
t’hurles Kelley to an assault charge
pleaded guilty and was fined $5.
Mike Nlblett was tried before a jury
on a charge of aggravated assault The i
jury decided lie was guilty of a ‘‘sim-
ple assault” and Nlblett was fined $•'■
He gave notice of appeal.

Mrs. R. C. Edmond of Dallas, who Iehild^n, two boys aged three and two, &ny

and are being cared for as her own.
