New Majorettes

ette and cheerleader tryouts to he
hold at the LaCoste High School
on Tuesday, May 13 at 3 p.m.
However, due to the fact that
there were two majorette open-
ings and only three girls were
planning to try out for the posi-
tions, it was decided that all three
be made majorettes. Next year’s
majorettes at LaCoste will be
Imogene Ahr, Shirley Williams,
Betty Jean Koch and Dorothy
Yantis. The drum majorette for

Kiris at the beginning of the next
school year.
The four vacancies for cheer

The LaCoste F.F.A. judging

annual sheep and Koat clinic, spon-
sored by the Gilicspie County
Breeders Association in Freder-
ieksdutk Saturday The Harper

N. J. Knopp as their instructor.
High individual honors went to

Elebracht of Harper F.F.A. tied
for third with 320.
Sixteen judging teams, repre-
senting a wide sector of Central
and South Texas, participated in
the judging that opened Saturday
morning's program______•
In the clinic portion of the pro-
gram, C, W. Smith of the Kerr-
ville Experimental Station discus-
sed external and internal para-
site control in sheep and goats.
Dr. R. D. Radeliff, also of the ex-
periment station, discussed di-
seases in sheep and goats.
J. A. Gray, sheep and goat
specialist of the Texas A. and M.
Extension Service, of San Angelo,
discussed docking, castration and
handling on the morning program,
followed by an afternoon discus-
sion on the selection of sheep
breeding stink and hints on shear-
ing and fleece preparation.
A large crowd was in attend-
ance throughout the day’s pro-
gram held in the sales arena of
the Gillespie County Fair Grounds.
BIS GARAGE COMPLETED

A new building has been added
to the LaCoste High School Cam-
pus. Last week Mr. Alvis Lagled-
er, local carpenter, completed a
double garage for the two LaCoste
school buses. This garage" is (''in-
structed of tin and is located on
the 'Southwest end of the campus
hetwe. t. Hu ag hop and the new
elementary school building.
