NATIONAL GUARD PROSPECTS
A list of 577 men* who register-
ed for selective service was given
to members of the Hondo Lion-
Club Wednesday. Members were
asked to contact as many of the
men as possible in an effort to

medicine and rehabilitation in
Texas, it was announced. The
committee also was asked to
secure the services of competent
hospital consultants to make a,
complete study of the organiza-
tional structure of the founda-
tion, to recommend any changes
or additions to carry on the treat-
ment program at the hospital.
It was pointed out to the devel-
opment committee that Texas has
adequate facilities for orthopedic
surgery in all of its major centers,
anil that the treatment center ah
Gonzales in its present composi-
tion would—provide the basis_for
an expanding treatment center in
physical medicine that could be
outstanding not only in Texas, hut
in the United States. At present,
the foundation is devoting its
facilities to physical medicine and
rehabilitation,, with "a doctor of
physical medicine in charge. Con-
centrated at Gonzales now are 10
physical therapists, three oc-
cupational therapists, plus nursing
services, equipment and physical
plant. More than 400 in-and-out
patients were treated there dur-
ing the past year.

home, for an over-the-weekend
visit.

test of the first well of the City-
Water Works to determine if it
is advisable to use it as an
auxiliary unit in the system. The
well was originally owned by the
Oblate- Fathers who used it t<

served the City until the second
well was drilled when thte City
purchased the Water Works.

Net Income Is Up
Bell Telephone reported a net
income of $72,902,778 applicable
to American Telephone and Tele-
graph Co. stock, or $2.80 a share
for the first three months end-
ing Feb. 28.
Total net income for the system
was $75,349,375, with $2,466,597
applicable to minority interests.
The corresponding amount paid
for stock last year w-as $1.89 a
share.
The parent A. ‘ T. & T. alone
had a net income of $04,400,000
or $2.42 a share for the three
months ending March 31, com-
pared to $53,403, or $2.27 a share
in the like period last year.
