Joe Denton has returned from
Kerrville, where he had been to vis-
it his wife, who is wintering there.
He reports her as getting along
splendidly, which will be good news
to her friends.
Twenty years ago if any nation
under the sun, this is one not ex-
cepted, had twisted the British
Lion’s tail, like it has been agitated
lately, the cannons would be shoot-
ing yet.
Hitler missed his calling. He
ought to have been a poker player
rather than either a housepainter or
a supposed statesman—he certainly
has the bluff.

MOKE USES FOR COTTON
Sun-
Some of the economists are try-
ing to find more uses for cotton, in
order that more of the staple may
be raised and sold. The late Jim
Lowry, editor of the Honey Grove
Signal, insisted that if we would
make the bedsheets nine feet long,
and shirt tails at least a foot longer,
the problem would be solved. Ari-
other good scheme would be to stuf:
cotton in the ears of the scandal-
mongers, so they would not hear so
much to repeat.

. Christmas, 1938 JR
!H Dear Folks:— H
Qjg One of our friends invariably returns thanks
§g at each mealtime, thus: JR
“For all we eat, for all we wear, jjk
|| For all we have, we Thank Thee.”
$g For nearly a year we have tried to think of JR
§g some way to express to you our thanks and ap- JR
preciation for your continued loyalty and support, JR
$£ which have actually made possible “all we eat, all JR
H we wear, and all we have.” ||
We then take our friend’s “blessing” com- §5
pletely for our expression of thanks to you, be- ^
cause it comes nearest to our real feelings. §5
May this Christmas be your Happiest and Mer- !R
% riest, and May the New Year bring you an abund-
H ance of everything for which you have the slight- |g
|| est desire.
$g Yours very sincerely, JR
