ed to Del Rio Friday after a vis-

Mrs. G. N. Lipscomb is grand-
mother for the tenth time. A son
was horn on Aug. 127 to Mr. and
Mrs. J. N. Lipscomb. They have
one other son.
Vernon Watson from Dallas
is spending his vacation here as
the guest of his cousin. John
Watson.
Mr. and Mrs. John T. Sollock
Jr., and son, Douglas, spent the
weekend in Houston visiting her
parents. Mr. and Mrs. David
Coers.
Mr. and Mrs. John R. Slater of
Kingsville were recent guests of
his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Claud Garrett of
Carrizo Springs spent the weekend

Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Howard and
Mrs. Mae Stansel are home from
their tour of Mexico. They had
quite an experience with “Char-
lie,” the tropical hurricane. They
report traveling all day in strong
winds and rain. Mrs. Stansel said
(they managed to stay “right
side up”, but saw a number of
overturned cars submerged in
mud and water, with only the
wheels in sight.
Mr. and Mrs. Clay Cranes and
Sharon of San Antonio visited
Sunday with his sister, Mrs. John
Griffin, and Mr. Griffin. The
Carnes family recently returned
from a trip to New York. They
Spent a night with M/Sgt. and
Mrs. John F. Griffin and family
at Langley Field, New Jersey.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Lipscomb
of San Antonio were Sunday
guests in the home of his mother,
Mrs. G. N. Lipscomb.
Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Harper and
Dan, accompanied by Dr. and
Mrs. W. H. Joyce and sons of
Lytle, were dinner guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Pete Hardt in Yancey
on Sunday. The dinner was given
in honor of Mr. Harper's birth-
day anniversary.

the former Edith Ward.

ily of Luling spent the weekend
visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
T. A. Duderstadt.

daughter, Kathy, have just re-
turned from Japan. Mrs. Bopp
is the former Hazel Hartmann
and this is her first visit home in
eight years. They visited her

Kay, Jimmie, and Claude High-
smith. Also present were Mrs.

vacation visiting his parents, Mr.
