Business of the Month
Affiliated Surveyors, Inc was named the Rusk Chamber of Commerce Busi-
ness of the Month. Wayne Morgan, owner of Affiliated Surveyors was honored
Feb. 18 at the chamber’s board luncheon meeting. President Kay Epperson
presided at the meeting. Mr. Morgan was presented the chamber Business of
the Month banner by members of the chamber board.

retirement. Serving as
host for the gathering
was Austin Young (left),
owner of the Rusk
agency. Mr. Goff started
at the body shop in
1979. Mr. Young said,
“We thought this was a
way to say thank you to
Deaton for the years he
worked with the different
insurance agencies.

Democratic convention
process begins March 22
Early voting began Tuesday, Feb.
18 and will continue through Feb. 28.
“Democrats who vote in the Repub-
lican primary, cannot attend the County
Democratic Convention and cannotgo
to the State Democratic Convention
as a delegate or alternate. This is a
rule of the Texas Democratic Party,”
said Caesar Roy, county Democratic
chairman.
The Cherokee County Democratic
Party Convention will be at 10 a.m.
March 22 in the district courtroom in
the Cherokee County Courthouse.
Precinct conventions are not
scheduled on the primary night, but
instead as the first step of the March
22 meeting.
Individuals may register online to
attend both the precinct convention
and the county convention. To do
so, register at the link http://register.
txdemocrats.org.
Use the information as it appears
on the voter registration of the person
registering. If that doesn’t work, just
continue to the next screen. The
system will accept what you type and
send a confirmation email.
