Well, if you didn’t at-
tend the Timpson BBQ
Cookoff sponsored by
the Timpson Area Cham-
ber of Commerce, you
missed some good bar-
beque. It was so tasty,
I had trouble deciding
who to vote for. The big
tent was a life saver for
those who can’t take the
heat, like me. It stayed
pretty cool under the big
top. The Chamber is
considering getting a tent
for Frontier Days. By
hot-hot-hotter July, that
will really be a life saver.
Good luck to Jakelia
Caraway and Reginald
Davis in the State Track
Meet on Saturday. Timp-
son & Tenalia will be well
represented by these two
athletes.
The City & School
Board General Elections
are Saturday. Everyone
needs to get out and vote.
You can’t gripe if you don’t
vote. Good luck to all the
candidates. And eventu-
ally, we’ll get around to
the Republican Prim ary on
May 29th. Most of the
candidates have made the
rounds to Meet the Can-
didate events. And if you
‘ve shown in any interest
in what they have to say,
you should know by now
who you plan to vote for.
It looked like all the
Timpson graduates who
attended the reunion this
weekend had a good time
visiting and remembering
their days in THS. See

Happy Mother’s Day!
Eocal business partners with
wiss company - Walter Meier
acquires Port-A-Cool, LLC
CENTER, Texas - Port-
A-Cool, LLC has been
acquired as a partner in
the Walter Meier Group of
climate and manufacturing
technology. The transac-
tion closed on April 30,
2012, according to Port-A-
Cool, LLC President and
C.E.O. Bill Lloyd.
Walter Meier is the
world's leading manufac-
turer of commercial and
industrial humidification
systems setting standards
with regard to energy ef-
ficiency and hygiene. The
company is focused on
Europe, North America
and China while export-
ing to more than 50 coun-
tries throughout the world.
The Swiss based company
founded in 1937 is active
in more than 70 countries
and employs 1,700 people.

our association with a com-
pany like Walter Meier can
bring," said Lloyd. "Port-
A-Cool is a perfect fit for
their current portfolio of
products and companies."
"The company will
continue as Port-A-Cool,
LLC, said Lloyd, "and
the current management
team will remain in place
and retain an ownership
share. Outside of continued
expansion and growth for
the company, the future for
Port-A-Cool is business as
usual."
In a statement posted on
their website (www.wal-
tenneier.com), the Walter
Meier group said, "With
the acquisition of the US
market leader in evapora-
tive cooling, the climate
and manufacturing tech-
nology group Walter Meier
is significantly expanding
its market position in that
sector. The move marks a
groundbreaking success
for Walter Meier in its
group strategy of focusing
its business portfolio on
growth and on the mega-
trends of energy efficiency
and environmental sustain-
ability.
"Following last year's
takeovers of JS Humidifi-
ers and ML System, Walter
Meier has taken an ad-
ditional step forward in
its long-term expansion
strategy in the evaporative
cooling sector with the
purchase of Port-A-Cool.
Comments CEO Silvan
G.-R. Meier, "Given that
we are the global leader
in commercial and indus-
trial air humidification,
this further expansion into
evaporative cooling is a
natural step for us because
both applications are based
on the same technology."
In the US, Port-A-Cool
is by far the leader in the
growth market of portable
evaporative cooling units.
Port-A-Cool recorded
sales in 2011 of more than
USD 70 million and cur-
rently has roughly 250 em-
ployees at its headquarters
in Center, Texas. Founded
in 1990, the company fo-
cuses on developing, pro-
ducing and distributing
portable evaporative cool-
ers for business, industry
and private households.
Another core activity is
the sale of paper-based
evaporative cooling media,
primarily in the field of
poultry and pig farming.

Port-A-Cool.
The global market for
evaporative cooling is
benefiting from the mega-
trends of energy efficiency
and environmental sus-
tainability. The market is
expected to enjoy double-
digit growth each year. To-
gether with Port-A-Cool,
Walter Meier intends to
participate in this growth
and gain additional market
share. The focus will be on
organic growth through
the internationalization
of Port-A-Cool's business
model coupled with the
expertise and financial
opportunities offered by
Walter Meier. Further ac-
quisitions, however, have
not been ruled out.
Walter Meier has re-
peatedly expressed its de-
sire to return to the path
of long-term growth fol-
lowing a period of con-
solidation over the past
few years during which
the company concentrated
primarily on sharpening
its focus and increasing its
efficiency. The takeover of
Port-A-Cool is by far the
most important step in this
direction to date.
Walter Meier is an in-
ternational climate and
manufacturing technology
group. The company gen-
erated sales of approxi-
mately CHF 650 million.
Shares in Walter Meier
are listed on the SIX Swiss
Exchange (symbol WMN).
