Profound Thoughts. . . . . By Mgiriie McReavy
Buck Schaiblc told me about
hearing a preacher talking about
cigarettes... "They will kill you," he
said. "And also alcohol will kill
you." "Of course, you CAN feel
good until you die!:... he added.
Is gluttony really a sin? Tell me
true, now! If it is, then I am chief
among sinners, along with Paul, in
the Bible. (But a happy, stuffed
sinner).
Gosh, Lake LBJ is beautiful,
peaceful and fabulous spot! Waves
lapping, big trees, rolling hills,
boats moving swiftly to and fro on
the lovely waters of the lake. James
and Louise Matthews have
lakcfront property and this last
weekend they invited a group of
people from the Faith Community
Church to be their guests. We went,
we loved it, and we ate very well! I
tried to do it all...swimming, water
skiing, and pigging out!
Martha Dolan and I had our
coffee and juice on the dock each
morning, with plenty of time for
reflection and/or contemplation.
Then we rode Jim's pedal boat all
^ around the lake. Buddy and Carla
Helms brought their ski rig and us
youngsters went water skiing! (At
home, on Monday morning, I could
hardly raise my arms high enough to
use my deodorant!)
We had worship services on
Sunday morning, with lots of good
old fashioned songs. Out first
prayer was led by Carla, who in-
cluded this thought..."Thank you.
Lord, for all the work done through
the years by Jim and Louise." And
the first song was a reflection of our
thoughts: "When We All Gel To
Heaven," sung with gusto by adults,
children and teenagers alike. Next,
"God Will Take Care Of You". "I
Need Thee Every Hour", and "I
Love To Tell The Story."

ape -r orange juice, and coffee.
In his Sunday morning short
sermon, Buddy Helms asked the
question..."Have We Lost Our
AWE of God?" All we have to do to
sec an example of God's Creation is
to LOOK UP and see the stars in the
Heavens, one of the best examples
of the handiwork of the Lord. Our
faith should not be in the princes and
potentates, but in GOD! Jesus is the
answer. Jesus said - "I am the Truth,
the Way, and the Life."
I loved this Profound Thought
expressed by Laura Matthews, as
she was leaving in the boat... "I’ll be
back in a few minutes. Wait five
minutes and if I'm not back,... wait
longer..."
We had a fish fry on Saturday
evening - potato salad, deviled eggsJ
cole slaw, green jcllo salad, red
beans, com sticks and Pecos cantcl
loupe. Later on, we made homo-
made vanilla ice cream, and l ad

list of questions, such as "If Bill Clintoi is impeached, will he still
