count showed an Increase of over j
31% in the past two years, accord-1
lng to T. Preston Hendricks, Dun A .
Bradstreet's manager at Fort j
Worth which covers this area.
He disclosed that In 1951 there
were 68 rated businesses listed In
the towns comprising Reagan
County and the count of these
same towns, in the new book show-
ed 89 The Reference Book lists
commercial enterprises—manufac-
turers, wholesalers, retailers, and
other business, generally those
buying regularly on credit. It does
not, however, include some service
and professional establishments,
such as real estate brokers, barber
and beauty shops, stock brokers,
etc. Thus figures for all businesses
in Reagan County would be higher
than the ones quoted above.
Hendricks estimated that during
1993 about 45 changes would be
made on the Reference Book list-
ings of Reagan County concerns
Including new names added, names
withdrawn, changes in ownership,
changes in credit rating and In
trade styles We find out that the
credit listings in Reagan County
are at the elbow of virtually every
credit man in the county when
they appear In the Dun Si Brad-
street Reference Book
Using the Reference Book list-
ings as a guide. It Is interesting to
note the comparative growth of
the number of enterprises in two
urban centers in Reagan County
