Bill Hooker
Services for William Bryan
(Bill) Hooker, 65, of Big Lake
were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday
in the First Baptist Church of
Big Lake with the Rev. J. B. Bit-
ner, Jr., pastor, officiating. Bur-
ial followed in Glen Rest Ceme-
tery under direction of Johnson' s
Funeral Home.
Mr. Hooker died at 9:15 a.m.
Thursday, October 25, 1984 in
Reagan Memorial Hospital in Big
Lake.
He was born September 8,
1919 in Spicewood, Texas. He
had lived in Big Lake 44 years
and had recently retired after 20
years as owner and operator of
Bill Hooker Texaco Station in Big
Lake. He was a veteran of World
War II, and a charter member of
Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Rankin.
Survivors include three sons,
Mike Hooker of Garland, Gary
Hooker of Longview, and Rodney
Hooker of Big Lake; one daugh-
ter, Lucy Atkinson of Hastings,
Michigan; three brothers, Mal-
colm Hooker of Grand Prairie,
Richard Hooker and Earnest
Hooker, both of San Angelo; two
sisters, Louise Crenwelge of San
Angelo and Jane Williams of
Coppell, Texas; and nine grand-
children.
The family requested that
memorials be sent to the Nation-
al Diabetes Foundation.

held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in
the First Assembly of God
Church in Big Lake with the Rev.
Leonard Lee, pastor of the First
Baptist Church of McCamey, and
the Rev. Dalton Froman, pastor
of the First Assembly of God
Church of Big Lake, officiating.
Burial followed in Glen Rest
Cemetery under direction of Rob-
ert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Warriner died at 4:05 a.m.
Monday, October 29, 1984 in
Park Plaza Nursing Home in San
Angelo.
He was born September 2,
1902 in Collin Countv. Texas and
was married to Tina Cleo Buthrie
on February 1, 1923 in Dallas.
Mrs. Warriner died December 1,
1980. Mr. Warriner was a form-

J. Brown Cutbirth, former
Reagan County resident, died in
Houston, Texas October 5, 1984.
Mr. Cutbirth was born January
21, 1900, in Callihan County,
Texas and moved to Reagan
County in 1905 with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cutbirth, Jr.
Cutbirth attended school in
Stiles, Texas and was a graduate
of Howard Payne College in
Brownwood. He was associated
with the First State Bank of Big
Lake and later moved to Brown-
wood where he was associated
with his brother, the late Sam
Cutbirth III, in an abstract busi-
ness.
For many years Mr. Cutbirth
made his home in Houston and
Kerrville, Texas, where he had
oil, ranching and banking inter-
ests. He is survived by his wife,
the former Cleta Stevens, two
children and several grandchil-
dren.
He was the grandson of Sam
Cutbirth, Sr., former County
Judge of Reagan County and a
cousin of Mrs. A. C. Hinde of
Barnhart and Mrs. Gordon E.
Roach of Big Lake.

Martinez
MERTZON.-Funeral mass for
Consuelo Martinez, 76 of Mert-
zon was held at 11:00 a.m. Sat-
urday in St. Peter's Catholic
Church in Mertzon. Burial fol-
lowed in Mertzon Cemetery un-
der direction of Gutierrez Fun-
eral Chapel of San Angelo. A
rosary service was held at 8:00
p.m. Friday at Gutierrez Chapel
of Prayer.
Mrs. Martinez died at 6:50
a.m. Thurs., October 25, 1984 in
Riverside Manor in San Angelo.
She was born May 18, 1908 in
Shatter, Texas. She was a long-
time resident of Mertzon.
Survivors include her hus-
band, Vicente Martinez; three
sons, Manuel Martinez and Ef-
rain F. Martinez, both of San An-
gelo, and Adan Martinez of
Mertzon; two daughters, Ra-
mona Lara of Big Lake and Elo-
dia Hinojosa of Grand Prairie;
two sisters, Josefa Montez of
Mertzon and Trinidad Diaz of
Plainview; 11 grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
