management of diabetes,

well with diabetes and the
importance of medications
and how they act on the body
to lower blood glucose. All
classes are taught by Certified
Diabetes Self-management
Educators and are fun and

Golf Tournament
The Lions Oub will host
their 16th Annual Golf
Tournament on April 25 at
the Livingston Golf Course,
Matthews Street Park at 1 pro.
The entry fee per four-man
team is $300 and this includes
a complimentary lunch and
beverages on the course. The
tournament is open to both
male and female golfers but
you must be of high school
age to participate. All pro-
ceeds benefit the Lion Gub’s
work with local children in

Charles Boyce reported a to-
tal attendance of 355 with a
96.41 percentage attendance
rate. Seventh grade has 70
students, eight grade 57.

there are 48 seniors.
The One Act Play had a
strong showing at District
but did not advance. They
did earn one All-Star
Technician award and
two All-Star Cast and two
Honorable Mention All-Star
Cast placements.
In FFA News, the
Farm Business Team was
10 in Area competition,
Floriculture was I5.1^tnd
Judging was 3. Livestock
Judging was 38. Milk
Quality was 10, and Nursery
landscaping was 6. The
Wildlife Team competes at
state this week, followed by
the Land Judging Team.
The UIL Academic Team
will compete in Regional's
in Tyler on April 19-20. The
Fourth Annual ROTC Golf
Tournament will be April 20
at Ravens Head Golf Course
in Huntsville.
STAAR Tests will be
April 22-25. The Prom will
be April 27. There will be a
Spring Band Concert on May
2 at 6:30 pro. The Annual
Art show will be May 3 at
6:30 pro.
JROTC Military Awards
night will be May 9 at 6:30
pro. The State End of Course
testing will be May 13-17.
Stella Todd reported on the
April 8 meeting of the Career
and Technical Education
committee. This served
as an evaluation meeting
and concerns raised were;
the need for more parent/
business participation on
committees and at meetings.
The existing Greenhouse
needs, whether to restructure
or a new building. They
plan to renovate the current
weight room into a Floral
Design classroom. The
welding and animal/food
industry classes are doing
well; local businesses have
increased in supporting our
students in employment,
potential new courses
introduced for the future
were; Veterinary Tech and
Foods Service Tech. A
possible Job Fair for 2013-
2014 was discussed, to
increase community interest
and understanding.
The consent agenda items
of tax report, quarterly
investment report and budget
amendments were passed
without questions.
The board voted to extend
their contract with the firm of
Hereford, Lynch. Sellers and
Kirkham to provide audit
services for the school year
ending Aug. 31.
The board entered into
executive session to consider
personnel matters.
When the board returned
to regular session they votes
to accept the resignations
of Cory Walters, Pamela
Lawrence and Marty
Martinez. They also granted
one year probationary
contracts to 16 individuals
and one year term contracts
to 45 individuals.

proval of the administration.
Another question regarded
what are the time tables
would be and plans for mak-
ing the changes.
Redden answered that the
architect will need four to five
months to develop plans and
specifications and then 10 to
12 months to complete con-
struction.
No architectural work has
been performed prior to the
bond issue passing.
