Classes Elect All-Star Teams,
Tournament To Begin Monday
With basketball season in full
swing, the feminine roundballers
have chosen their all-stars, and a
tournament will begin next Mon-
day morning with the champion-
ship game coming Thursday after
school. All games will be played
in the girls’ gym.

MWF Anna Sue Poe, seventh
MWF Barbara Bass, first TTF Jo-
ann Jarnagin, fourth TTF Sandra

the game that when she finally
did sit down, it was in an occupied

DISTRICT I representatives will
travel in a chartered bus to Hous-
ton where they will stay in the
Rice Hotel.
Mrs. Scott Carpenter, wife of
Astronaut Scott Carpenter, will be
the honored guest at the meet,
which will be highlighted by a
guided tour through the National
Aeronautics and Space Adminis-
tration Building in Houston.
ALSO AT THE meet LHS will
enter the club scrapbook, which
took first, place honors at the dis-
trict meet in Canyon for compe-
tition. The District I group will
leave Feb. 13 before school in or-
der to be in Houston for registra-
tion Friday morning, and will re-
turn Sunday morning.
The convention will be in the
form of an over-all workshop for
junior and senior high schools
throughout Texas.

THE FIRST second semester
project for FT A will be taking
tray favors to Methodist Hospital.
Club officers and members will
make the favors and take them to
the hospital Feb. 14, according to
Martha West, reporter.
The favors will be in the form
of valentines to represent Valen-
tine’s Day.
FTA IS ALSO making plans for
their state convention to be in
Austin Feb. 28-29. The club will
send four delegates.

Pins for Future Nurses Club will
be distributed during the regular
meeting of the club. The formal
initiation for members was last
month at Underwood’s Barbecue,
so the pins will simply be distri-
buted to members, who have pur-
chased them, at the next meeting.

DUE TO Dead Week activities,
TTF club meetings were cancelled.
Regular meetings will resume
according to schedule next week.
