also named as a runner-up for
this honor.

teachers from this school have
been recognized as Outstand-
ing Young Teachers by the
Lubbock Jaycees.
Rose Mediano was named
• The Golden Rule Award from
the J.C. Penney Corporation for
Outstanding Volunteer Service
to the community was awarded
to the Black History class.
• The school has a successful
Peer Mediation program with
trained and skilled student mediators.
• The Peer Action Committee was honored with the
Youth Recognizing Youth Award by the City of
Lubbock for their outstanding youth volunteer

• Breakfast Club, an early morning tutoring session,
