Tomorrow At Hutchinson
City-Wide FHA Workshop Planned For Junior High Officers

At the city-wide FHA workshop
tomorrow morning at Hutchinson
Junior High from 9:30 - 11:30,
high school FHA officers will in-
troduce officers of junior high
chapters to their duties. The work-
shop was planned by the Monterey
chapter.
TUESDAY LHS Mary Emma
Chapter will continue collecting
dues as part of the afternoon bus-
iness meeting.
Dues were also collected and of-
ficers introduced to new members
at a coke party last Thursday after
school.

Larry Harbin, local FFA presi-
dent, was elected treasurer of Dis-
trict I FFA last Wednesday in Ida-
lou.
MEMBERS ARE preparing for
the Idalou District leadership con-
test Oct. 27, according to Gauvain
Gilbert, reporter. Events will in-
clude senior chapter conducting in
the club meeting, junior chapter
conducting, farm skills and a quiz.
FFA Sweetheart will be elected
at the Nov. 12 meeting; she will
attend the District banquet Dec. 3
in Idalou where the District Sweet-
heart will be chosen, according to
Gauvain. Candidates for this hon-
or have not yet been selected.
COMPLETION of officer elec-
tions of Le Cercle Francais is the
purpose of the French club’s meet-
ing Tuesday, according to Janice
Speer, publicity chairman.
Last Tuesday each elected offi-
cer gave a report on his duties and
on forthcoming activities of his
committee. Dues were collected
and initiation ribbons distributed
to new members.
Previously-elected officers are
Frank Agraz, president; Halcyon
Hunter and Mickey Seymour, vice-
presidents; Charles Ybarra, service
chairman; Janice, publicity chair-
man; and Renee Moore, music
chairman.

YESTERDAY was the organiza-
tional meeting of National Thespi-
an* for all students in speech who
have acquired at least ten ‘Thes-
pian points.’
Students receive points for hours
of outside work in dramatics, at-
tending plays at Texas Tech, tak-
ing parts in plays and for helping
in stage preparation for plays.
OFFICERS elected last spring,
are Sally Halley, president; Shan-
ny Lott, vice-president; Janice
Jones, secretary; and Peggy Fer-
guson, treasurer.
