office in the forenoon and again
early in the evening Everything
was all right in the forenoon and
the mischief was discovered at the
evening visit Mr Howards safe

Red White and Blue
The red white and blue mem
bership contest of the 11 11Y M
C A is starting out in better
shape than any contest that has
been started in the history of the
association The members arc
taking hold of the work with a de
termination which means success
from the start
It is realized by the leaders that
it is no small task to add 265 sen
ior and S5 junior members but
there is with this a conviction that
the thing ought to be and can be
done
Col Nance Majors Dillcy and
Rogers together with the captains
of the companies Messrs J A
Morris of the white Claroncc
Pearson of the red and J H Gid
the work and selecting their sub
ordinates Nor arc they merely
selecting subordinates for Mr
Morris has secured in three days
fourteen membess to his personal
credit while Col Nance has the
honor of bringing first blood of
the battle At the building there
is displayed a case of beautiful
association badges and watch fobs
that arc given to those securing
members and each company
wears a neat little association pin
with the color of his company on
the triangle It is estimated that
there arc in the city S00 men elig-
ible to membership in this splen-
did organization who arc not now
