East Texas The captain says the
edition to be devoted to East Texas
in his opinion will be the best yet
issued and that it will cost somewhere
in the neighborhood of10000 The
commercial and social features of Pal-
estine will be an interesting part of
the volume Capt Peeler will remain
in Palestine perhaps ten days and
will inaugurate the work to be done
here by the compilers Capt Peeler
is well known to many of our people

DIAMOND TRADE LOOKING UP
Several Large Factories In New York
Have Resumed Operations

New York Oct 2 The recent
marked improvement in the diamond
trade is regarded in business and fi-
nancial circles in this city as one of
the most trustworthy signs of an early
and general return of prosperity The
diamond trade was one of the first to
feel the depression last year arid has
been one of the last to show recovery
That the condition of the trade is
steadily improving is evidenced by
the fact that several of the largest
factories devoted to the trade in New
York have resumed operations during
the past week or two and the others
are preparing for an early resumption
of business

ladies of the Home Mission Society
will give an entertainment at the
skating rink in Neches at night Oc-
