"Toni"
Born January 23, 1924 in New Orleans, Louisiana by parents
Simon Richard and Margaret Duran. She was the 3rd child of
four and raised in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi where she attended
St. Rose de Lima School and Church.
She later married Ezekiel C. Major and raised three children,
Cheryl, Michael and Barry. In the 50's, the family relocated to
San Antonio when "Zeke" was transferred to Lack land Air
Force Base. They found a new home at Holy Redeemer Church
where she was an active member of the Ladies Sodality and the
Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Santa Monica Ct. #35
and the 4th Degree Ladies of Grace Myrtle Marie Gardiner
Chapter #21. She enjoyed the church fundraisers and Bake
Sales with her sister "Nannie" Leah Ellis. She and her husband
were active members of the Knights of St. Gregory until his
death.
"Toni," as she was lovingly called went to claim her reward in
heaven on October 7,2005 where she joined her parents, brother
Eddie Wiltz,husband "Zeke," son Michael and sister "Nannie"
Leah. She will be missed by her brother Raymond Fletcher
(Baker Louisiana), daughter Cheryl Haywood (San Antonio TX),
son Barry Major (Jacksonville Florida), ten grandchildren, six
great-grandchildren and relatives across the country including
California, D.C., Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi and
Ohio.
