Miss Pope is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Norris Paul Pope of
Hondo and granddaughter of the
late Mrs. E. H Lightfoot of Ro< k-
ale.
Adamson is the son of Earl Lar-
kin Adamson and the late Mrs
Adamson of Vernon, Texas.
The double ring marriage ser-
vice, followed by communion, was
officiated by the Rev. Wayne Wil-
liams, associate pastor of Jefier-
son Heights Methodist church in
San Antonio. "O Promise Me”
was sung by the soloist, Mrs Bill
Thornton of Sulphur Springs, ac-
companied by Miss Susan Mims
at the organ Miss Mims also
played the traditional nuptial
music.
Entering the sanctuary with
her father, who gave her in mar-
riage. the birde was radiant in a
gown of ivory hand-drawn Alen-
con lace accented with peau de
soie The bell silhouette, styled
of lace, featured a scalloped cir-
clet neckkline and below-the-el-
bow sleeves.
A fold of peau de soie graced
the Empire line and circled low to
the back to form a separate petal
train of the ivory pcau fie sole.
Her fingertip veil of French il
lution was held in place with a
Crystal cornet and .'he carried a
crescent bouquet of white roses
and stephanotis.
Miss Mary Ward Pope served
her sister as maid of honor. Other
bridal attendants were Mrs

The couple Will celebrate then 50th Wedding An-
niversary on that day, and will also host the annual
Nancy Booth Reunion
‘‘Everyone is invited to bring a basket lunch and
have fellowship,” Rev Hiilin said. "My wife is going to
cut a mighty big cake, he added.
Rev. and Mrs. Hiilin were married in 1912 at the
Sand drove community.
Rev. Hiilin is pastor of the Bible Baptist church.
“Actually, they hired me to ‘sweep out' and I just do the
preaching as a sideline,” he jokes.
The bride is a daughter ot Mrs.
Eugene Howard of Austin, and

The bride was given in marri-
age by Mr Wayne H Eby, a close
friend of the family.
She wore a traditional gown of
pure 'ilk organza and hand-dip-
ped Chantilly lace over taffeta
The lace bodice featured a rose-
scalloped sabrina neckline, and
king sleeve' tapered ;o points over
her wrist. The exquisite organza
skirt had deep scallops of lace
caught with hand-designed silk
organza roses, and swept into a
wide chapel-length train. Her fin-
ger-tip veil of silk illusion was
draped iroin a lace coronet _*mbel-
lished with pearls and brilliants.
The bride s bouquet of feathered
carnations, centered with a white
orchid and showered with pearls
and lily-of-valley was carried on
a white -atin-covered Bible which
had belonged to her great great-
gieat grandmother.
Miss Nancy Howard, sister of
(bride, was maid-of-honor. Her
:short length dress of pink bro-
jcade taffeta was designed with
j full skirt, and a fitted bodice that
had a -cooped neckline and short
sleeve.'.
S sleeves. Her head-dress was of
white nylon net and she held a cas-
cade bouquet of roam glory roses.
Bridesmaids were Mi's Janice Sut-
ton and Mi.s Shoron Sprat/, who
were die-sod identical to the maid
of honor, in short length dresses
of pink brocade taffrtH Their
1 cascade bouquets were also of
roam glory roses.
The petite flower girl. Eran
Magee, wearing a dainty pink
frock, carried a basket of rose
pedals.
Michael Whiteley, served his
; brother as best man. Groomsmen
were Jack Hubert and Dan Jen-
kins. and ushers were Hank Ho-

The bride’s mother wore a dress
of blue designed with jacket, and
accessories were beige
Mrs. Whiteley. mother of the
groom, wa- gowned in beige peau-

Cyinbi-dium orchid corsage.
A reception was held in Nordan
Lounge of the church, following
the ceremony Pleasing settings of
roses and stock were placed about
the reception rooms. Mrs Dobbie
Jenkins, sister of the groom, pre-
sided at the bride’s register.
The white satin covered bride's
table was overlaid with net and
centered with a handsome 3-tiered
epergne that held pink roses and
sprays of white stock, which were
gracefully arranged.
At one end of table was the
three tiered wedding cake, design-
ed with clusters of wedding bells
on the top layer and delicate em-
bossed (link roses decorated the
lower tiers. Miss Linda Hall serv-
ed the bride's cake, and at the op-
posite end of the table Mrs. Mich-
ael Whiteley and Miss Marry Ho-
ward presided at the punch ser-
i vice.

beige suit and white accessor.e:,
and her orchid corsage was lifted
from the bridal bouquet
The bride was graduated from
Johnston high school in Austin
and also attended the Austin Busi-
ness college The groom graduated
from Rockdale high school arid
the Austin Barber college.
The couple will reside in Roik-
dalc at 717 W Bell.
