income. A drive will be put on to
get soil test made this fall.

mum of community effort toward
the aecomplishment of a single
objective in the shortest possible
tune in tins case, creating 11 favor-
able active attitude in the minds
of all people within the communi-
ty toward a sound soil fertility'
program.

quires the active support and par-
ticipation of every segment of the
community - businessmen, bankers,
tocaional agricultural teachers,

sonnel. farm organizations, farm

1962-crop corn is $1 27 per bushel
for corn grading No. 3, according
to Alva E. Sanders, county office
manager of the Milam county agri-
cultural. stabilization and conser-
vation service. A- in 1961, pre-
miums and discounts will apply.
Tin- following premiums are in
effect for 1962: Grade No 2 or
better—l cent per bushel; broken
corn and foreign material, 2 per
cent or less—1 cent per bushel;
moisture content, 14 per cent or
less- 1 cent per bushel.
The discounts that will be made
lire as follows: Weevil.v corn—2
cent- per bushel; mixed corn—2
cents per bushel.
The ASCS office will make loans
to producers eligible for price sup-
port Such producers desiring to
place their corn in the loan must
present a warehouse receipt at the
county office and make applica-
tion.
A referendum on marketing
quotas for the 1963 crop of wheat
will tie held on August 30, 1962,
according t<> Sanders Eligible to
vote are producers who will har-
vest more than 15 acres of 1963-
crop wheat as grain. This does
not in hide participants m last
year ‘1962 feed wheat for home
use program, Sanders said
Ballots for the community com-
mitteemen election have been
mailed with a letter of instruc-
tion and statement of eligibility
to all owners and operators of
farms in Milam county. The dead-
line for returning ballots to the
Milam countv ASCS office is Sep-
tember 12. 1962
