A wedding of interest was sol-
emnized on Wtdneiday, Nov. 26,
.it 4:30 o'clock, in St Mnry’i rec-
tory Miss Maxine Young, duugh-
ter of Mrs Lucille Young of 101
West Third St , Lampasas, Texas,
and Mi Dill YounK Of Rockdale,
Texas, became the bride ot K O.
Wendel in a cundleliKht ceremony.
The rites were read by Fr. Eu-
gene Dore of St Mary’s Catholic
church before an altar beautifully
decorated with archer! greenery
and arrangements of white glad-
tolas and chrysanthemums, flanked
by brass candelabra with w'hite
tapers.
The bride, given in marriage by
her brother-in-law, Robert L Tay-
lor, was beautifully attired in a
tailored suit of muted grey tweed
with black accessories. Her cor-
sage was a single lavender orchid
of unusual beauty Miss Mubel-
ene Young, twin sister of bride,
attended her as maid of honor.
She wore a dressmaker suit of
grey sharkskin with black access-
ories. Her corsage was of pink
carnations tied with pink and sil-
ver ribbons. I. C. <Bub> Wendel
of La Ward attended his brother
as best man.
Guests included the families of
both the bride and groom and a
few intimate friends. Those at-
tending from out of tovyn were:
I C. Wendel, the groom’s brother
from La Ward, and his sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cur-
tis Fling from El Campo.
Mrs. Wendel is well known here.
She attended school in Lampasas
and has been employed here for
the past four years.
Mr. Wendel is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Wendel of El Cam-
po. Although he has not lived in
Lampasas very long, he is weii
known here, as he holds the posi-
tion of coach in the Lampasas
schools.
The popular young couple re-
ceived a merry send-off as they
left on a wedding trip to Shreve-
port, La. They are at home now
at 711 Chestnut St., Lampasas.

Mr. and Mr*. Rhett Wildei an-
nounce the ntarriuge of their
daughter, Mary, to Kenneth Shel-
ley, son of Mr. and Mrs G. A
Shelley, all of Kermit The wed-
ding was held on Friday, Nov 2B,
in the home of Rev. Strause At-
kinson, pastor of the First Baptist
church, who read the ceremony
The bride wore a black and
white dressmaker suit with black
accessories and a white carnation
corsage. She was attended by Miss
Louise Wood, who wore a suit of
gray, black accessories and a cor-
sage of pink carnations. Rhett
Wilder, Jr. was best man. Only
members of the immediate fam-
ilies and a few close friends at-
tended the wedding.
Mrs. Shelley graduated from
Kermit High School in June of this
year and since that time has been
locally employed.
Mr. Shelley also graduated from
the Kermit school and attended
Loyola University in Illinois one
year, and Sul Ross State Teachers
College in Alpine before serving
in the U. S Navy for four years.
He is employed by the Gulf Oil
Corporation. The couple are now
at home in Kermit after taking a
brief honeymoon trip to New Mex-
ico.

tive of Rockdale and attended
school here, going with her par-
ents to Kermit about four years
ago.
On this, another Christmas

Fraim was host to the Men’s Bible
Class of the First Christian Church
at a ”42” party.
Tables for the games were placed
in rooms where decorations in red
and trimmed Christmas tree cen-
j ered the table and an arrangement
of pine sprays with red candles

Sandwiches, cake and coffee
were served.
