Daule T earns Win One,
Lose One On The Road
The Daule Rams found the
range Friday night in Eagle
Lake and soundly trounced the
Blue Eagles with a combination
of short and long shots. Final
score was Rams 65, Eagle Lake
54.
The Rams have now won 2
and lost 3 for the season in Dis-
trict play. They have won 9
games and lost 6 for the season;
three of these contest were drop-
ped to the Dragons of Seguin,
one in District play and the
other two in tournaments.
The Rams hit for 16 points
in the first quarter, 12 in the
second, 14 in the third and 23
in the fourth quarter. Leslie
Thomas hit for 20 followed by
Willie Johnson with 18, Donald
Taylor with 12, Jessie Mathis
with 8, Freddie Jones with 5
and Elmo Rjgjyolph with 2.
Wilbert Williams led all scor-
ers with 22 for the Eagles follow-
ed by Stoney Smith with 16.
The Seguin Dragons invade the
Rams court Tuesday night for
the final meeting cf the. e two
schools this season. 'Die Seguin
crew rook the Rams by a mar-
gin of 9 points in Seguin and
the Rams are out to avenge
that licking. Game time 7:30 to-
morrow night (Tuesday) at Dau-
le Gymnasium .
The Eagle Lake Girl team
had to pull out all stops to down
a young but stubborn group of
Cuero lassies before they could
claim the victory. The Cuero
club threw up a defense against
the best offensive girl team in
the District and held them to
4 points in the opening quar-
ter. Dorothy Strait and Betty
Taylor were the wheelhorses in
the defensive efforts as they
came through with timely steals.
Ram forwards lack the polish
to free themselves to rack up
points, however, this is a knack,
that experience alone will take
care of, since there are only
two senior girls out for Basket-
ball and one junior, so one can
readily see that these girls will 1
be available for duty for quite
awhile.
