District 14-AAA Clubs
Finish Season’s Must
List This Week End
The stout., contented San Marcos Rattlers are ex-
pected to make It official tonight when they roll out
the carpet for the Beeville Trojans who are being de-
pended on to furnish company at the ‘deciding table’.
In plainer words, the District 14-AAA winners of
1964 will have an anticipated ‘workout’ with the Bee
county group to definitely and officially determine the
pennant winner In district
play. Going Into the inconse-
quential scrap the San Mar-
cans have an enviable 9-0-1 re-
cord compared to the unimpres-
sive 34-4) record of the south
Texans.
All finishing places in Dis-
trict 14-AAA play this year
have not been definitely deter-
mined, but it looks like Gon-
zales will close in the number
two spot, followed fry Sam Hou-
ston. Seguin and Cuero. The
Gobblers appeared to be on the
way early this year when they
tucked away five straight vic-
tories, but then came the
"mighty' in the loop, Sam Hou-
ston. Lockhart, and Gonzales
unconcernedly left the Cuero-
itcs dangling alongside the bro-
I -n left leg of field goal and
point, after kicker David Heyer.
Tonight, in addition to the
San Marcos - Beeville affair,
it'll be a must’ visit to Gon-
zales b.v the Schertz-Cibolo Buf-
faloes, who aro not accorded a
gliost of a chance to snare the
wily Apaches. This one appears
tp lv» a question of ’how much’.
The Seguin at Lockhart game
definitely is a ’must' engage-
ment also, with the former club
cradling the nod department.
Both these clubs have potential
power and both might have
waited until tonight to assert
it so fhc odds stand at 5-3.
