Came across one of the
drivers for the Rhodes
Truck Line which has the
contract for hauling the
concrete beams seen passing
through the city the past
several days.
We asked him a question
which we suppose, he has
been asked many times.
‘How much do those
beams weigh'’”
The driver's reply was;
"Weil, that s a small one on
my truck outside. It is only
a 46-foot one and weighs a-
bout 32,000 pounds. The
longer 66-foot ones tip tile
scales at 49 000 pounds ”
Now we know.

A Dallas lady has come up
with a pretty good solution
for those folks in Louisiana
who would like to be rid of
Governor I-lar! Lone, who
finally returned home after
a whirlwind t?.mt through
Texas, Mexico. New Mexico.
Arkansas and Kansas
But lets get back to the
elderly Dallas lady who had
listened to a lengthy con-
versation about the antics
of Gov. Long on his western
vacation.
She endvd the discussion
with the observation;
"Someone should give him
a plastic bag to play with."
