tournament yesterday, 20 in the
high school field and 15 in the
junior high division.
Next on the agenda for the
youthful golfers is the regional
competition scheduled for July
5 at Riverside course in Victor-
ia. To be eligible for the region-
al event, a boy must have en-
tered the three previous tourna-
ments. The top eight winners in
the high school field and the top
four in the junior high ranks
from the Riverside event will
qualify to compete at the state
level with winners of other
areas at Willow Springs Coun-
try Club in San Antonio on July
10.
Culberson won the high school
division by a margin of two
strokes over Mike Miller of Port
Lavaca and was three shots bet-
ter than Jeff Oshman of Port
Lavaca.
Tied for fourth place with 77s
were David Tighe of Victoria,
David Olhausen of Port Lava-
ca, Andy Luddeke of Cuero and
Steve Royer of Port Lavaca.
Luddeke won the fourth place
trophy by carding a birdie on
the extra hole of the four-man
Curtis Carter of Port Lavaca 80,
Phil Coppedge of Cuero 82, Jeff
Jones 83, David Engle 89, Terry
Koehler of Cuero 92, Bill Mor-
row of Cuero 100, Chuck Wilson
of Cuero 100.
In the junior high division,
David Kelton of Port Lavaca
and Danny Cullins tied for first
on the fourth extra hole In a
playoff for the prize. Mark Roy-
er of Port Lavaca was third
with 89 and tied for fourth with

vaca. Rose was the winner on
the first extra hole.

the Lions Club Cards Tuesday
night. Kerry Kahlich was credit-
ed with the win and David Pra-
ter and James Rickman shared
pitching chores for the Cards.
At ceremonies before Tues-
day night’s final game of Cue-
ro’s Little League season, Pre-
sident Carroll Cook presented
trophies to members of Cuero
Federal Savings & Loan Asso-
ciation Cubs who ended the year
with 12 wins and 3 losses for an
800 per cent season.
