forces into resigning and Is being
held captive and incommuni-
cado.
Looney told Cox that unless he
returns to his seat in the sate
House of Representatives, and
fights his accusers, he Iiooney
will resign as Cox’ attorney.
Cox. charged with offering to
take a $5,000 bribe from Dr.
Howard Harmon, president of the
Texas Naturopath Association, re-
signed Sunday night from the
House of Representatives, say-
ing the time taken by investiga-
tors of the charges against him
would be “an injustice to the en-
tire membership.”

But Looney, who was Cox' law-,
yer from the outset of the scan-!
dal, said in a long statement to-j
ment today that he had not been
