ponse to an Invitation from Dick
and BIB Pratt, the brothers
whose centos Is behind the
Horseshoe Bend project. The in-
vitation, extended through wide-
spread newspaper advertise-
ments, provided two days and
nights free lodcing in one of
three modem, air-conditioned
rnoteto located in tht heart at
the development area.
Others came as members at
special groups organized by
Horaeehoe Bend representatives
in metropolitan centers and
flown to the mountain site by
chartered plane.
No matter how or why they
came, they obviously were im-
pressed by what they saw. Sev-
eral hundred purchased Horse-
shoe Bend property and conse-
quently became members of the
Horseshoe Club.
A majority indicated they
would build either a retirement
home or a vacation retreat. A
few admitted their purchase was
strictly an investment and that
they would decide later whether
to build on their property or
seD at a profit when, in the nor-
mal course of events, property
values increased.
