WASHINGTON (UPI) - The
Agriculture Department report-
ed farmers have planted 14,-
754,000 acres of cotton this
year, down .6 per cent from
last year.
Estimated planted acreage in
Texas for 1964 was 6,175.000,
down from last year’s 6,225,000.
The department k forbidden
by law to make a cotton pro-
duction estimate until later in
the season. But if yields aver-
age 500 pounds of lint per plant-
