a glazed cereal meat loaf, or a
cheese cereal souffle.
Glazed Cereal Meat Loaf
1 cup uncooked quick or regu-
lar rolled oats
1 1-:' lbs ground raw meat —a
mixture of pork, veal and
beef trimmings or pork sau-
sage.
1-4 cup chopped onion
1-2 teaspoon salt
Pepper
1 tablespoon prepared niust-
ard
2 beaten eggs
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons tart jelly
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
Mix oats with the meat. Add
chopped onion salt, pepper, pre-
pared mustard, eggs and milk.
Mix very thoroughly and shape
into a rounded loaf. Put in a
greased baking pan and bake
35 minutes in an oven 375 de-
grees. Mix the jelly and 1 table-
spoon prepared mustard. Brush
over loaf and bake 25 minutes.
Make gravy from drippings.
2 cups water
1-4 teaspoon salt
White pepper
1-4 cup chopped parsley
1- 1-2 cups grated American
cheese
3 eggs
Combine cereal, butter, milk,
water, salt, pepper, and parsley
in double boiler. Place over boll-
^ water, cover and cook 20
minutes. Stir several times. Stir
in 1 1-4 cups cheese, cover and
cook 5 minutes longer. Add egg
volks. slightly beaten, and cook
3 minutes. Fold in stiffly beat-
en egg whites. Pour into ungreas-
ed baking dish, sprinkle with re-
maining cheese. Bake in an ov-
en 325 degrees for 1 hour.

Stuffed Pears, Rom
(Make* 6 to 8 servings)
1 (3-oz.» package raspberry-
flavored gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 cup California Rose wine
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Few grains salt
1 (3-oz.) package cream che-
ese
1-4 cup c)topped walnuts
ti to 8 canned pear halves
| Dissolve gelatin in boiling wa-
ter. Add wine, lemon juice and
salt: chill. Press package of cr-
eam cheese into walnuts until
coaled on all sides; cut into 6 to
8 equal-size pieces. Place drain-
ed jiear halves cut side up, and
with pointed ends toward center,
in 8-inch round cake pan; set a
cream cheese square in center
each pear half. When gelatin be-
gins to thicken pour around* pe-
ars (fruit will not be entirely oc-
vered. Chill until firm. Cut into
pie-shaped wedges to serve.
