Three Great Ways To
Look In Your Role
As Career Girl
-Tell Us LiIs o
It Is---
And Often!
Christmas Fete
Planned Dec. 11
By JOAN O'SULLIVAN
LAST YEAR'S pant suits
will he making it back to the
office this year, hut the big
fashion news is the dress. It
has returned as the mainstay
of the working girl’s ward-
robe. In fact, the dress is hack
in a great big way for wear
around the clock, fashion is
taking a girls-will-be-girls
point of view and the dress
makes for a very feminine and
very welcome change of pace,
Career clothes, as always,
are designed along neat but
nifty lines. They are not fussy
or fancy. Well-tailored is the
adjective (hat applies.
David Crystal does this type
of dress to perfection, making
it beautifully basic, a perfect
foil for a variety of acces-
sories - scarf, pin, necklace,
choker-that. will make presto
changes in the way it looks.
One of the big bits this sea-
son is the one-piece dress that
has a two-piece blouse and
skirt look. A smart style, it La
easier to wear than blouse and
skirt because the top stays
put. Tt can’t hike up as blouses
so often do. The chic button-
skirt. belted dress pictured
here is a one-piecer that looks
like two.
Another working wardrobe
mainstay is the shirtwaist
dress with its crisp look. Typi-
cal is the one pictured here in
oatmeal doubleknit wool with
long sleeves.
Yet another fashion gaining
popularity with career girls
is the botpant-not worn solo,
but under a skirt. David Crys-
tal does one in its famous alli-
gator insignia line. It looks
like a three-plecer but striped
top, hotpant and solid color
skirt are one-piece.
